Why Google remove this function? :-(

No particuar reason for not root, I just wanna try without unroot. I want to feel the original Google experience.

Few things at this moment I want to see by default;
1) The owner of the table able to share files, sharing apps also best to have. This feature will smoke Ipad Mini.

2) I able to hide certain photo folder direct from gallery ( as my HTC Incredible S phone able to it)

3) Hotspot suppose to have since my tablet Wifi+3G.

4) Able to set default widget on lock screen. I found out it always show '+' widget. even create 5 widget(this the max) it still show '+' even I can't add any more widget.

5) how about apps shortcut at lock screen? I can't find setting for it.

So anyone could advice me on how to turn on the internet tethering & hotspot for the Nexus 7 device running on 4.2.1? Or I must root the unit then only can use the function?

No offense but if its still confusing perhaps you shouldn't root your device without a guiding hand.

nexus dont have slot for sd card? how im gonna tranfers apk + sd data? are this tab need to be root? 16gb version how available space left after pre install? this tab use tegra 3, mean no need to root if just want play games?

Cable for transfer, Actual formatted space about 11-12GB i guess

Root is only when you wanted access into system files, no root is needed to play games unless pirated games which somehow require root access patching

If you're unsure of a step, don't proceed. Your N7 might end up as a very expensive chopping board. Post your steps here, someone might help.

Install clockwork recovery ( CWM ) or TWRP recovery using Nexus toolkit first

Copy the mod zip file into your root of tablet

Than boot to recovery mode ( volup+voldown+power button) - you will see recovery menu - select install the zip

Use the app WiFi file explorer or airdroid to transfer data between tablet and PC/MAC and vice versa
About 11 gb space left for 16gb
