I used Seasonic platinum 850w for about 8 yrs.. then died

Now change to FSP Hydro G 1000w atx 3(less than a year)

My point is find some reputable brand ..at least listed in cybernetics
*
FSP, Seasonic... both are branded and OEM to others. If want Cyber cert, can go for Corsair better ones. These are only Cyber certified

Why long warranty is not a deciding factor
https://hwbusters.com/news/why-long-warrant...-evgas-example/

Interms of reputation FSP have been a PSU maker since long ago and their forte is industrial PSU so they have solid background in PSU design.

if i increase budget to 500+ can i get japanese capacitor?
*
That FSP Hydro GE 650W has Jap electrolytic caps, the polymers are likely Taiwan but would be just as durable as Jap electro type. No need to overspend.

Guys, I haven't been keeping touch with markets/builds lately, especially on PSUs.. but I suddenly in need to replace my son's PC PSU, from an old Corsair VS450. He has a 3300X and 5700 in his rig, with 3 SSDs and some fans. Anything cheap and decent (I know cheap no good good no cheap) since it's nothing fancy anyway. And should I keep running the 5700 with daisy chain?

RM 400 - 500 for just 650W PSU? Why overpay so much? That FSP & MSI is under RM 250

Yeah. Been thinking about 5090 for quite awhile but worry TNB Bill sky-high
*
Msian electricity bill is super affordable that it wont make a huge dent in your wallet unlike in EU lar. If you cannot afford the electricity bill, then you might struggle to finance that 5090....
Like sweating the RON97 to feed a Ferrari.

For your use, 5060TI will do fine. But if you want a bit of futureproofing better go with 5070. With deals & discount its basically same price as 5060TI 16GB.

Agreed you're right, 5090 is abit overkill for casual gamer like myself. Think I will just get the 5060 Ti at cheapest price possible
*
Can consider 7800XT if still on sale now its at good low price. Other than RT it has better raster (I think RT is on par tho..)

Crmaris working closely with OEM PSU maker CWT to improve 12VHPWR connection supply wire to prevent melting issue. If not urgent I would wait for the PSUS from their collabo to come out

To put into easier context brands primarily using CWT are Adata XPG, Montech, Corsair, MSI. So get from any of them once the platforms gets updated with Cybernetics help.

want to buy psu cable combs to tidy up Corsair RMx psu cables. do those cheap combs in Shopee fit? I'm wondering if the combs only fit the premium sleeved cables (because of diameter).
*
I saw RMX cables are uni sleeved except an inch from the sockets, you wont need to use them and neither will they fit.

what is uni sleeved?

This

The sleeving is bundled into a uni cable.

To use cable combs you need each wire to be individually sleeved like this

Noticed a loud high pitched noise from the PSU when playing games such as Cyberpunk or Red Dead Redemption 2.

FSP DAGGER PRO 650W 80 Plus Gold Full Modular SFX

Do I need to include all the cables if I initiate an RMA?
Because if needed, then I’ll have to de-cable my entire setup.
*
Depends, you have to ask the shop you bought from.

I rma my FSP Hydro G Pro 1000w atx 3.0 and been given a choice to replace with FSP Vita GM 1000w atx 3.1 or Super Flower Leadex iii 1000w atx 3.1 . I'm abit conflicted bcoz Vita GM only have 2 pcie 6+2pins and Leadex iii is only 5 years warranty. Which one should i choose?
*
What GPU are you using? If have 12VHPWR socket can use the native 12V 2X6 connection instead.

Rx 7900 xtx 3x pcie 6+2. Thats why im in dilemma.
*
If your only choice is those 2 then your answer is Leadex iii since Vita GM ady not compatible with 2 PCIE connect. You could take the risk of using the pigtail on the Vita GM but thats at your own risk to find out if if works.

Otherwise like above said, sell it and buy some other.

BTW what happen to your Hydro G Pro?

It suddenly blew up. I'm a bit dissappointed, i thought fsp is very reliable. Hydro G pro atx 3.0 is really a good balance in connectors.
*
FSP is a reliable OEM brand, my HV Pro been running since 2022 til now, but I guess things happen and maybe theres other factors as high end PSU have lotsa protection b4 it can blow. Was the PC connected to a UPS or AVR?
