If i wanna get r9 280x, do i really need to upgrade the psu? Cos feiton got some promo going rite now
*
You appear to be using an OC'ed CPU right? I recommend changing to a 600W at least in order to pair nicely with the R9 280X, it gives you some more extra headroom anyway.

The V700 is a very good PSU, OEM'ed by Seasonic. Go with it without a doubt. wink.gif thumbup.gif

Hi,

Im planning to upgrade to i7 4790k + z97 motherboard.
Wanted to ask whether my current 750w psu is sufficient?

Below are my current spec:
cpu: intel i5 3570
ram: kingston hyper-x 4gb ddr3 1600 x2
motherboard: Asus P8Z77V-LK
gpu: Gigabyte GTX 560 TI OC x 2 (SLI mode)
hd: 1x SSD + 3x 1TB HDD
psu: seasonic m12ii 750w

Thanks
*
GTX 560 Ti is a ~ 150 - 170W rated card, so 2 pieces should be anywhere between 300 - 340W max TDP. Your 750W should be sufficient for your new intended setup. wink.gif

Does my rig specs below able to run with Seasonic M12II-520 520W 80Plus Bronze Modular? Should I go for 620W instead?
*
The 520W is sufficient. However, I would suggest you to top up just a bit more and go with the 620W instead. Saves you the trouble in case you plan to upgrade to a more powerful GPU in future. wink.gif

Antec 650W is RM259. Seems like the price is more or less to Corsair VS650 RM229, but VS650 is single rail +12V. hmm.gif
*
The VS650 is actually a pretty good PSU, though it does come with lower tier capacitors (from the review of the 450W model), however the product is well warranted so I do not think it is much of an issue anyway. As for single or multiple rail, there has not been conclusive evidence that one is better than the other, so any would do. I am not sure what series is the Antec model you've mentioned, but the EarthWatts Platinum model is quite ok too. Alternatively, do also consider the FSP Raider which is around the same price range.

guys, which psu is better suited for this rig?

CPU:Intel Pentium G3258 LGA 1150 -->gonna OC to 4.7ghz or 4.8ghz later
Mobo:Asus B85M-G
Zotac GTX770 2GB DDR5 256BIT (ZT-70301-10P)
Ram: Kingston hyper X fury 4GB 1600mhz x2
HDD: WD Blue 1TB
Monitor:Dell S2340L
Custom CPU Cooler: Cooler Master TPC 812 Vapor Chamber

currently i have few options,
PSU: Super Flower HX600M Modular 80+ Gold Power Supply - RM295
PSU: Antec EA-Platinum-550-NC - RM299
PSU: FSP Hexa 550W - RM159
or is there other PSU that i should go for?
*
I recommend at least 600W for your build. Some suggestions.

Seasonic S12 II 620W - RM299
FSP Raider 650W - RM259

thx for the reply.
then left those 3 choices.

from a review here it says that FSP Raider 650W is better than Seasonic S12 II 620W.
but how about Super Flower HX600M? after googling i found out that the Super Flower is modular while FSP is not modular. then Super Flower one is better?
*
Super Flower is fine. But for this HX series, I understand that they appear to use a slightly inferior main hold up capacitor, so it may raise some questions on long term reliability. But then again, IINM they are warranted up to 5 years right? I do not foresee this to be a main issue, besides this PSU is also priced very attractively and offers excellent for feature for its price range.

The PSU still under warranty? Else can consider this: Seasonic S12 II 620W PSU, RM299.
