how much? my budget quite low..

if it will be among this, what would you choose?

corsairs vs 550w
FSP HEXA+ 550W
500W STRIDER ESSENTIAL (85%)
Aerocool kcas 600w

this only that i could afford for now..

hope  enough could power up my rig hmm.gif
Not a fan of Aerocool's stuff though fine but given the choice of 4 I will go with

FSP HEXA | SS Strider | Corsair VS

I have all of them and they work fine as entry level. PSU.

FSP is reputable, great stuff from them.

Grab a proper unit from Seasonic/reputable brands and it will not take out your precious hardware.  icon_idea.gif
Every brand also can take down your hardware, it's just about chances.

Reputable brands
- use High grade (or at least better) components
- safety features

With 2 above, the chances of any damage done should shit happen is far reduced.

If anyone can spend RM 3k - 4k for a system, one shouldn't aim for the cheapest PSU. It just doesn't make sense.

Sure, cheap PSU sells very well actually but that's because they sell along with lower-spec system, those systems usually work fine with whatever low-end PSU but when you have higher-end (read : COST MORE) specs, why risk on low end PSU?

Even if one is to go low end, go with reputable brands like FSP, Seasonic, Silverstone, Corsair.

Corsair rep told me NOT to send the psu to my local distributor, which is Cudo.
Just checked with Corsair (local) for you - send to distributor Cudo.

Guys, which one of these you guys prefer? FSP HyperK 600w 80+ or Evga bv 500 bronze.
Both also low end. biggrin.gif I don't see any particular difference in them other than wattage.

Same distributor too.

The irony is I spent RM200+ to replace my AVF PSU to the FSP to prevent this problem in the first place doh.gif

Hexa is entry level, but if stand many years also good already.

Sometimes it's not PSU problem, it's our house electrical circuit having issue.

How long so you use your entry level psu btw?

I'm planning change the PSU in my new pc after a few months of use.

Not confident with fsp hexa model ( I think use about 3-5 years, can't remember exactly.)
Don't know, PSU died because kitten peed in it. tongue.gif Trip whole house power.

3 - 5 years is damn long already for entry PSU. smile.gif

Full Modular cables don't make sense, because no matter how ATX / CPU cables is a must to operate.

Only useful if say you need to do some fancy routing and your PSU connection point is accessible.
