Fast? I don't think so, I've heard rumors spreading around by my class monitor that says that Penang Free School has completed the whole Add Maths syllabus. And another more insane thing is that my friend from a SBP says that he's going to cover up the whole Physic syllabus anytime now. Darn, I'm a slowpoke.... doh.gif
*
Please don't be disillusioned along the way . I know SPM is stressful but don't turn it into a rat race . It's not about who's the fastest in finishing the syllabus . It's about who's the one who understands everything before SPM . It doesn't end at SPM .

********************************************************************************************

After receiving my midterm results , my principal decided to include me in our school's excellence program . I rejected it , because it's unfair to the other students . And I'm sick of the talk about SPM being an exam that determines what you'll be in the future .

I want to enjoy the journey leading to SPM . The result is a bonus . I see so many people saying " after SPM , I'll be free . " But the truth is far from that .

What's the excellence program all about? sweat.gif

They choose the top 5 students based on the midterm results and plaster the word " Harapan Semua A+ " on their faces . They must place their signature on an " Aku Janji " form , in doing so , attend more extra classes than usual , report on their progress , and are not allowed to skip school .

My initial response was it was unfair for other students , why only the top 5 are targeted for straight A+s ? The ' not allowed to skip school ' part was a big turn-off because I like to study on my own pace and regularly skip school . Most of the time in class , I can't study due to noisy environment .

Now I'm like a fugitive . tongue.gif
The principal and GPK Akademik have branded me as arrogant , and they warned that since I don't want to be helped , they won't help me .

If a bird walks on top of the dome ( with a radius of 25 units ) , and it can only keep its balance up to a maximum gradient with magnitude of 2 .

Find the coordinates of the points that represent the maximum distance from the horizontal and vertical axis that the bird can walk without slipping downwards , where the equation of the curve is y = -4/125 x^2 + 20

An arithmetic progression has 9 terms. The sum of the first 4 terms is 24 and *sum of all the odd number terms is 55* . Find

a.)the 1st term and common diff.
b.)the seventh term

The problem , I feel , is the wording of the question ( marked * ) .
By odd number terms , does it say T1 , T3 , T5 , or the actual numbers themselves ? If it's the former than I may have to re-consider my understanding of the term "term" in progressions .

Example , an A.P may consist of 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 ...

Are the odd number terms 3 , 5 , ... or T1 = 2 , T3 = 4 , ...

Does an A in 1119 count as an A.  E.g. I get 7A, my 1119 get A, so 7+1= 8A

8 more subjects to go . I'm so close to complete Maths .

I'm here to also add that I've asked some Maths questions but did not reply to them , as you can see , my posts are fragmented . I'm sorry . But I'm racing against time to finish my syllabus . Now I'm closer to doing so , I shall post more frequently .

I have to be honest that I'm worried right now . The stress has come back . It's good though , it'll keep me going .

How did Kuiz Kimia Kebangsaan go for you guys ?

WOW, an impressive feat indeed rclxms.gif

I'm in quagmire when it comes to my language subjects such as BM/BI. Frankly, I've got no problem on handling the komsas or literature part, but when it comes to essay/karangan, then it will be a whole different story unsure.gif

All of the other subjects seems quite ok with me,I reckon icon_rolleyes.gif  (Except for History which I'm currently in stalemate, darn doh.gif ). My whole classmate and me did complete our Math syllabus since weeks ago if my memory serves me right, and we're currently focusing on spamming tons of past year questions. But, when my Math teacher nonchalantly told us that our former Form 5 batch did it way way more earlier than we did, we all................... shocking.gif  shocking.gif

Nevertheless, keep on going rclxms.gif  We're still 104 days away from our big battle, can't wait till that time comes.........

I don't know , buddy .

At this point in my life I have so many mixed emotions .

I just finished Maths' syllabus yesterday . That leaves me with 7 more subjects . I agree with you about the language subjects , especially BM . I was once the most fast when it comes to finish reading literary works . Throughout form one to form three , I absolutely loved Cerpen and Sajak . I can still remember the rustic poem about a poet describing his dad sleeping on 'tikar mengkuang' , and the short story titled 'Rahsia' . I read the short story one afternoon , and it was raining -- similar to one scene in the story . Very haunting .
Not anymore , sadly . I'm still not done with Dirgahayu Bahasaku and wasn't completely done with Harga Remaja . The problem lies in answering KBKK questions . I sometimes struggle to come up with simple answers for trivial questions like , ' Pada pendapat anda , mengapakah Raja Indera Bumaya tidak mahu berjumpa dengan Tuan Puteri Ratna secara berdepan , sebaliknya menjelma menjadi burung bayan dahulu ?' ( 3 marks )
I don't have problems with the novel part though .

I really don't think you and your classmates should feel humiliated , really . What's important is you are able to finish your syllabus in time before the trials . ( it's also encouraging that you actually have classmates who are in pursuit of good results in SPM ) . As for Sejarah , yes , it's been stagnant for me too , sadly .

You can't wait 'till the time comes ? Here , I'd like to get back to my initial line :

I don't know , buddy .

While a part of me is eager to finally leave school for college to study A-Levels , a bigger part of me is telling that I'll sorely miss these moments . I don't know about you , but secondary school has been a place where I'd made some truly great friends and experienced many sweet moments with them , I don't think I'll able to find better ones in college . It took us 5 years to really get to know each other and to form a close bond , and now we're finally about to leave .

I'd definitely want to achieve my goal in SPM , but I wouldn't want to be so deep in preparation that I start to miss the moments that unveil around me .

I'm also starting to worry as well .
Trials ? 27th . Technically I have a month's time to finish everything .

So many emotions running through my mind .

Good luck on finishing the syllabus though, I'm WAY behind and now I'm still preparing for an accounting quiz sad.gif

Other states will set standardised trial papers for each subject . Negeri Sembilan decided to be clever and not follow suit . blush.gif

Hey, Maxim.
Confident for the straight A+ already?

Nope , in fact I'm extra worried . Trials = 27th of August , and I haven't finished the syllabus .

I haven't memorised all the moral definitions . I'm worried for my Bahasa Melayu as the teacher decided not to help already .

About a month to re-study form four and form five Sejarah . What do you think ?

Look at this ! About paper 3 Sej . Looks like we can bring any printed materials in , which means a list of KBKK answers would be okay . Hmmm , good news , good news ...

Moral definitions would require less than a day to memorize.
Give two days for complete storage.
Another day for practices to train your application.
Another day for muscle memory.
Conservatively, worst would take you five days to score A+ and be confident in scoring it.

You need one weeks for complete refreshment and memorization of Form 4 History.
Another week for Form 5.
Two days for topic-orientated studying.
Two days for practices.
Another day for muscle memory.
Give and take, around three weeks will do for an excellent comprehension.

Else, any subjects can be bypassed by merely practices, and smart aiming for topics.

I'm glad you posted here . Very reassuring . biggrin.gif
On a sidenote , one more chapter left for Chemistry and I'm done . The last chapter looks pretty light too , which is a good thing .
