I hope our Army and Airforce can make a cool promo vid like the thais. That will be cool. The Malaysian Navy vid I posted earlier is not bad and looks very professional.

QUOTE In the clip video of royal thai army. I saw few attack helos. How many do they have I really do agree that our Army / Airforce needs a attack helos. Our neighbors have it Indonesia are planning to have attack heli. The helicopters are good at taking slow moving targets and give air support. You can lay more firepower than F 18 jet as you can hover over your target and not have to fly in circles. wikipedia - QUOTE While helicopters were effective tank-killers in the Middle East, attack helicopters are being seen more in a multipurpose role. Tactics, such as tank plinking, showed that fixed-wing aircraft could be effective against tanks, but helicopters retained a unique low-altitude, low-speed capability for close air support. Other purpose-built helicopters were developed for special operations missions, including the MH-6 for extremely close support. This post has been edited by AxeFire: Mar 16 2013, 11:12 AM |

QUOTE Embraer flight-testing India's last AEW EMB-145 Embraer is flight-testing the last of three EMB-145 aircraft modified to be fitted with an airborne surveillance radar for India. Once the activity has been completed in Brazil, the aircraft will be delivered to the Indian Defence Research and Development Organisation's (DRDO) Centre for Airborne Systems to have an indigenous active electronically scanned array radar installed. "They have two aircraft with the mission systems already installed," says Embraer, which adds that it provides technical assistance to India with regard to integrating the platform's mission systems. "It's a joint programme," Embraer says. "We have our technicians going there and some Indian technicians coming here The system, referred to in India as the Airborne Early Warning and Control System, is not operational yet, Embraer says. Two aircraft are still undergoing tests at the DRDO, but if the project proves to be successful it could be inducted into service with the Indian air force. Sources suggest that the type's radar is likely to have been designed with Israeli assistance. One unique feature of the Indian aircraft is that they are fitted with an in-flight refuelling probe, which should boost their range and endurance considerably. "It's the first time one of our [intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance] platforms based on the -145 has the air refuelling system," Embraer says. Embraer says that while India has options to buy more of the aircraft, it cannot disclose that information. sosej |

QUOTE Brazil selects IAI 767 tanker to replace KC-137s The Brazilian air force has selected Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) to convert two Boeing 767-300ER airliners into aerial refueling tanker transports. The converted aircraft, which will replace the country's existing Boeing 707-derived KC-137s, will also act as a strategic airlifter and medical evacuation aircraft. Brazil's two KC-137s were built in the 1960s but only entered service with the country's air force in 1986. The aircraft need to be replaced because of high operating costs and high fuel consumption. The aircraft's excessive engine noise also played a factor in Brazil's decision to replace the KC-137. Brazil has been looking for a replacement tanker since 2008 under the KC-X2 programme. Boeing, Airbus Military and IAI had been invited to submit bids. The award comes nearly three years after IAI delivered to Colombia a 767-200 modified into a tanker. IAI's Bedek division performs the tanker modifications. The company offers refueling by probe-and-drogue and a recently qualified fly-by-wire boom, although it was not clear which configuration Brazil selected. sosej |

The israel thingy is bull but the tunnel might exist but I don't think for invasion. Might be build during WW2. Anyway, I don't get some people who think Singapore strengthen its army to have war with Malaysia. Singapore is small so it's logical for them to have a strong military. |
