Melaka, 20 April - Seorang koperal polis meninggal dunia semasa bertugas di pusat penamaan calon Politeknik Merlimau, dipercayai mengalami serangan jantung di pintu masuk pusat itu di sini hari ini.

KPD Jasin DSP Muhd Nur Hishamudin Hashim berkata Kpl Nordin Ahmad, 50, dari Balai Kemendor, di sini disahkan meninggal dunia pada 8.15 pagi semasa dalam perjalanan ke Hospital Jasin.

"Allahyarham ketika itu dilaporkan baru selesai bersarapan pagi apabila tiba-tiba terjatuh dan tidak sedarkan diri.

"Beliau dikejarkan ke hospital tetapi disahkan meninggal dunia oleh petugas kesihatan sewaktu berada dalam ambulans," katanya kepada pemberita di pusat penamaan itu.

Allahyarham antara 150 anggota polis dari seluruh Jasin yang bertugas pada hari penamaan calon bagi parlimen Jasin di pusat itu.

Beliau meninggalkan balu Norhayati Nordin, 48, dan dua anak lelaki iaitu Mohammad Saifuddin, 13, dan Muhammad Riduan, 16. Al -Fatihah - BERNAMA

Typhoon fighter jet performs first laser guided, self designating, simultaneous guided bomb drops

Equipped with new P1E software, a Eurofighter Typhoon in a multirole configuration featuring both air-to-surface and air-to-air weapons (2 GBU-16 plus 1 Laser Designation Pod plus 2 AIM-9L plus 2 underwing tanks) recently conducted the first laser guided, self designating, simultaneous guided bomb drops: in other words, the European jet attacked and destroyed two different targets at the same time.



According to Eurofighter, further successful tests were conducted using the same two-seater plane with 2 x SRAAM, 4 x AMRAAM, 2 x underwing tanks, 4 x GBU-16 and 1 x LDP pod;  approximately double the F-16 weapons load.

The tests were aimed at proving that the Typhoon is not only an air dominance fighter capable to achieve some F-22 kills in mock aerial combat during last year’s Red Flag Alaska, but is also an effective precision air-to-surface platform, as proved by the Libya Air War.

“P1E brings full simultaneous multi-role capabilities to the Air Forces currently operating the Eurofighter Typhoon with full integration of the Litening II Laser Designation Pod and Precision Guided Munitions. P1E also delivers Mode 5 IFF, improved Radios and Direct Voice Input, Air-to-Surface integration of the Helmet Mounted Sight System, improved Air-to-Air capabilities including digital integration of Short Range Air-to-Air Missiles, updated MIDs functionalities for enhanced interoperability with coalition forces, and many aspects from the popular UK Radar and Drop programmes which delivered improvements to the Tranche 1 aircraft” Eurofighter says.

Future enhancement programmes will integrate even more weapon systems and capabilities to the aircraft such as Storm Shadow, Brimstone and the Meteor missiles.

New Uniforms For Armed Forces Soon - Zahid

SRI AMAN, April 22 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) personnel and officers will receive new uniforms boasting digital prints six months after it is approved by the Finance Ministry under the newly formed government after May 5, said Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

He said the ministry, which submitted an application before Parliament was dissolved, had issued an open tender and will appoint a distributor to replace the existing camouflage uniforms.

"The new uniforms made of a fabric that is cooling and repels mosquitos will be an upgrade to military operations," he told reporters after attending a wearing of ranks ceremony for five members of the 13th battalion Royal Malay Regiment Pakit Camp, here Monday.

He said 86,000 MAF officers and personnel will enjoy automatic promotion after eight years of service as announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak at the 2013 Budget last year.

At the same time he reminded soldiers not to fall for the opposition's promises, saying the continuation of the government and peace managed by Barisan Nasional is needed to develop the country.

Ahmad Zahid also stated his appreciation and gratitude for Lahad Datu heroes who were involved in Ops Daulat in Sabah recently.

cobra is a no frills CAS helo,if malaysia expects a massive tank column to penetrate the MY-TH border then yes apache would be a wise choice

HUT Tragedi NURI FM1715 , Pada 26 APRIL 1976, Operasi 'KOTA' mencatat sejarah hitam apabila sebuah helikopter Nuri Tentera Udara Di Raja Malaysia (TUDM) yang membawa 11 Pegawai dan anggota pasukan keselamatan jatuh ditembak akibat angkara pengganas komunis pada lebih kurang pukul 10.00 hingga 10.30 pagi di Hutan Simpan Ulu Muda, Gubir, Kedah. Helikopter tersebut dalam perjalanan ke pos-pos tentera di perbatasan Malaysia-Thailand terbakar dan mengorbankan kesemua pegawai dan anggota termasuk juruterbang.
