I agree with statement no. 8, the others are open to debate..Disagree with SU30MKM being mongrel, since on paper, its the best modified version of the SU30s. SIBMAS no go to operations anymore bcoz spare parts are hard to get. Armor boys also complained that the 90mm Cockerill turret on Scorpion light tank is not suitable. i actually like to see the Scorpion reverted back to recce mission and replace the 90mm turret with 20mm gun with equipments suited for recce missions. Dunno know much on the quality of locally produced 5.56 mm rounds or whether we are using imported ones. Maybe have to ask general in charge of logistics, oh wait, former head of army logistics joined PR..

I'm no expert but i remembered a documentary (i forgot either in Disc or NG Channel) comparing the M16 with the AK. The M16 have better accuracy while the AK have better penetration. It was also mentioned on that documentary that during the Vietnam War a lot of GI's were killed in the jungle while they were taking cover behind trees. The AK bullet penetrated the tree and hit the GI's.

Dua Anggota TNI Tewas Terseret Banjir

Dua anggota tim jelajah Ekspedisi Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia (NKRI) Koridor Sulawesi 2013 tewas terseret banjir bandang di Sungai Desa Doda, Kecamatan Simpang Raya, Kabupaten Banggai, Provinsi Sulawesi Tengah, Senin sore, 1 April 2013.

Kedua korban merupakan anggota Batalion Infanteri Lintas Udara (Linud) Madiun, Jawa Timur, yakni Serda Iswadin dan Pratu Zulkifikri Amizam,  yang sudah 11 hari menjalankan kegiatan jelajah bersama 13 rekannya. Keduanya berasal dari Yogyakarta dan Pekanbaru.

Komandan Distrik Militer 1308/LB Letnan Kolonel Arh. Sonny Septiono mengatakan kedua korban sempat hilang selama 15 jam. Keduanya ditemukan tim SAR, dibantu Komando Rayon Militer Bunta dan warga setempat. "Kejadiannya kemarin dan berhasil ditemukan tadi sekitar pukul 06.00 Wita dengan kondisi tidak bernyawa lagi," kata Sonny, Selasa 2 April 2013.

Setelah ditemukan, kata Sonny, kedua korban dievakuasi menggunakan helikopter TNI AU dan tiba di RSUD Luwuk pukul 12.00 Wita untuk divisum.

Komandan satuan tim Ekspedisi NKRI Sub Korwil Banggai itu menambahkan, jumlah anggota tim jelajah seluruhnya 15 orang. Berdasarkan kabar dari penjelajah via satelit, rekan korban saat ini dalam keadaan sehat di tempat peristirahatan permukiman suku terasing Desa Doda.

Atas peristiwa itu, Sonny meminta agar seluruh kegiatan ekspedisi dihentikan sementara waktu untuk selanjutnya berkonsolidasi di posko Poskotis Ekspedisi.

Saat ini kedua jenazah disemayamkan di Masjid Fajar Imam, Kodim 1308/LB, Kelurahan Bungin Luwuk. Menurut rencana, keduanya akan dikembalikan ke kampung halaman mereka, besok, dengan menggunakan pesawat Sriwijaya Air dari Bandara Udara Syukuran Aminudin Amir Luwuk menuju kota asal masing-masing. "Sesuai dengan permintaan keluarga," kata Sonny lagi.
