Stock settings?
It says "Application Controlled".
Normally, you should set it in your game options.

High contrast levels considering it's cost comparatively though there are better screens out there.

I just saw that xoticpc is selling the w230st in the US with a 1070USD base price, with surprisingly 8gb of ram included. That's like rm3400, which is mighty impressive considering how much it is being sold in singapore(aftershock pc) and by Illegear at around 4000 for a base model.

You have to consider several factors like tax. And remember, this is MALAYSIA, you can't get things by conversion.
You can say the things here are not fair in price or overpriced compared to overseas but you have to understand that all other brands are also susceptible.
AP products won't do you good too. Warranty is important.

True, it's always unfair when laptop prices are concerned. Surprisingly though, things like smart phones are sometimes cheaper here than in the US, off contract. Why can't it be the same with computers?
*
It depends on the market. Say ASUS / Lenovo / Acer / Dell can give better price because they are popular. As of now, i think lenovo is leading in price for specs. The Y series is incredible with SLI at 3899.
Smart phones are different markets, it's a higher necessity and the market is stronger because of the amount of users.
Tell me who doesn't have a smartphone nowadays.

Laptop is not optional but popular.
Some people still stick to desktops.
Either way, it's mostly made in china products nowadays whether AP or not. Quality is not really arguable.

I tried the MSI GE40 and GE60 and the cooling performance was quite disappointing as I wasn't expecting a very warm keyboard/touchpad area <----huge concern for me. I hope Illegear RE-15 is much better hmm.gif
*
It's excellent. I'm using RE-15 right now. Even at full load only the upper parts near the speakers ( which the fan vents and gpu are)
Touch pad is always cool so far.
Just so you know, backlit keyboards makes it hotter too.
So not having one is actually better unless you have more fans or heat sinks and vents.

Backlit keyboards doesn't generate that much heat ba haha  tongue.gif
*
Not that much but it still generates heat. And higher intensity generates more. It also depends on how many fans / vents you have to lose it.
Either way, it cost $$$ for backlits, i'm not saying it's pulling down the performance by generating more heat but it's a fact that more lights generate heat for example : alien wares, a disco machine. But no worries, it won't cause any overheating issues. So far backlit membrane keyboards do generate a bit of heat after long use.

Update: Oh, I took out the wireless card and check. Found out that there was a piece of small sticker covered a pin on the wireless card, I removed the sticker by soft cloth then it able to detect now.
*
U better lodge a complaint lols so that other users don't get them lols. Not many people will purposely take out the wireless card to check lols, and might send it back.

I have a question lols.

If my warranty has expired, and there are some minor parts say my battery pack or adapter is not usable anymore,

Does illegear sell/service these replacements?

I mean for other things like ssd/hdd/ram/processor we can replace it ourselves.
But battery packs and adapters or even display screen or speakers would be hard.

Of course, there will be a service fee . I just want to see if there was such availability.

If possible, i would like to see the price chart on the repairs for such components.

A10-5750M + 8970M vs i7-4700MQ + GTX 765M which one is faster?

Faster? in terms of what?
For processor, 4700MQ > A10
For GPU 8970M >>> GTX765

The only reason why you would buy it is because of the gpu HD 8970M because it's very HIGH in the benchmark chart compared to gtx 765.
