QUOTE(dexjac @ Dec 17 2012, 11:11 AM) It is not exactly with the key chains and magnets, but its near there. LOL... thank for the drawing.. it's cute IF you are facing this shirtless darth maul, the key chain is on the RIGHT hanging glass cabinet this darth maul is not hook on, it is actually just inside the glass cabinet. *not very good in drawing but hope this gives u better idea [attachmentid=3211213] DM - Darth Maul KC - Key Chain X - Kids play area The X area now is where all the kids are playing, surrounded by Duplo sets, right? Anyhow, for TRU Malaysia to sell this poly at RM39.90 dab smacks of daylight robbery. It's selling for USD4.99 in the States and free for certain promo (still dunno how to get the promo). *sigh* I might go there tonight again to check it out... cheers! QUOTE(acougan @ Dec 19 2012, 01:15 PM) so, if p-o direct from BN.com, can get both sets for ~RM165!??? vs RM149.90/ea I understand that we all wanted cheaper pricing for our beloved hobby but the fact of the situation is yes, you can get RM165 for both sets BUT you did not factor in the shipping cost + tax (if any). I agree the local price for a USD19.99 set should not be RM150 but if you look at the other side of the Atlantic/Europe, the pricing for it is £19.99! USA is cheaper overall but because it's a highly competitive toys market there.http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/lego-super...an=673419190381 http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/lego-super...an=673419190428 ALJ boss can start crying if we boycott them The rest of the world for the USD19.99 set, UK+Europe would be priced £19.99 and €29.99 respectively. I can tell you guys... I'm trying to bring in all the new 2013 sets now, but the shipping is killing me. And it doesn't help that they charge us using volumetric weight! I have one parcel (with only one set!) only weighing 0.75kg but they charge me 2.5kg! I was like "WTF"?!?!? So if you can bring in via whatever source you can, the might look good on the website, try until you check out their shipping cost.... |

QUOTE(kenny_pang @ Dec 19 2012, 03:38 PM) This is absolutely correct. No blxxdy warehouse sales. ALJ has high pricing due to the fact that they are in cohorts with TRU. Why can't they price like their product like APPLE ? The difference between most countries is small. Even TRU in USA is being criticized for always basing their RRP higher than shop.lego.com! So if you think you get a bargain by having 25% discount, but in actual fact they already markup a good 15-20%! I think in this region, Singapore has the most reasonable pricing for Lego BECAUSE it's NOT controlled by ALJ/Li Fung Group. But their pricing is still higher than USA. The worst has to be Australia! They have high tax and thus high pricing. The 10221 SSD is being sold at AUD699.99!!!! Talk about overpriced! |

Already a lot of enthusiasts are boycotting them. But what to do? They will never discount saleable sets, only give points if you are TRU member. They have a monopoly what... Plus it doesn't help that it's the Xmas season... The amount of ppl I saw at TRU on the weekends was mad!

QUOTE(ichiglance @ Dec 19 2012, 06:58 PM) just wondering, how much for the tax if i ship from US? First off, good luck with finding these 2 discontinued sets. The ones in MISB will set you back at least $150 for the BP and $200 for the QAR.will take lego black pearl and QAR ship. wooot! Plus another $60-$80 for shipping... if you're lucky no tax... if not budget another $20-$40 as tax per set... Mind you those are the worst case scenario, good luck Added on December 19, 2012, 7:52 pmHowever, I did see one MISB (Black Pearl) in one of the toy shops in KL. But the owner insist on RM600+ for it... This post has been edited by MaKiMo: Dec 19 2012, 07:52 PM |

QUOTE(scpt @ Dec 20 2012, 04:30 PM) Our Malaysian online Lego store, Brick Bastion are having a store wide sale, everything are 10% off while a certain few have higher discounts. As much as I want to support local supplier, this Brick Bastion's RRP is still based on ALJ's pricing....At RM116.91, I think 4635 Fun with Vehicles is quite worth it for the number of parts it has Damn too high! |

QUOTE(Chaud @ Dec 20 2012, 05:24 PM) Hopshopgo charges 7% as a BuyForMe fee...Kinda negates the reason he wants to buy it in the first place. However if it's a rare set, then maybe it's the only logical and economical sense to get it from TLG. Good luck! |

Since they have the distribution rights in Malaysia, Indonesia, Phillipines and Cambodia, I'm sure that they have the channels to distribute all the goods. They won't order ngam-ngam one coz TLG would require them to order according to a certain ratio variation.
AlJ would not have the choice to take all on Star Wars only, they must also take in Cars and Toy Story too... Which is why we in this region is subsidizing all those buggers in the USA. |

QUOTE(Chaud @ Dec 27 2012, 08:52 AM) it was mentioned earlier that it was up to Spetember only...so far i didnt go and check it out after the period Yeah, it was stated that it is an experiment to see the Malaysian public's response to a standalone Lego store.I bet you that they're half-empty now due to limitation of stocks and Christmas shopping. Since they markup so high, I'm sure that if they can sell half of their stocks, they are able to sustain for his long... Added on December 27, 2012, 10:18 amBTW, damn... not only is my SSD stuck in Customs, they want to charge me duty of RM200+.... cialat... This post has been edited by MaKiMo: Dec 27 2012, 10:18 AM |
