LOL....

Almost in the same situation. Almost laid off Lego for more than 5 years now. My last Lego set was the 6212 X-Wing that I bought from TRU KLCC.
Back then already cursing about the high price - RM249.90 (luckily have 10% discount via TRU Member Card).

Now, because of this forum thread (and a Lego toxic-spewing friend smile.gif), I'm back into Lego in a big way!!!
Since Nov til now already purchased the:
9493 X-Wing
9495 Y-Wing
9492 Tie Fighter
7965 Millenium Falcon

Future purchases will be these:
7498 Police Station
7288 Mobile Police Unit
4440 Forest Police Station
10230 Mini Modulars
9500 Sith Fury-Class Interceptor

Damn... if I keep going like this, bankrupt lor... thumbup.gif

mmm sorry to ask stupid question. but how can we know if a LEGO item can be shipped to Malaysia (From AMAZON)?

thinking of getting that LOTR set or the Manevolence something.
*
It's not a stupid question.... if ordering for international shipping to Malaysia is a hit-and-miss kind of thing.
Some they do send, but most of the time they don't...

And if they do, shipping cost and tax is quite high.

Do your research first lor before you take the plunge.

do u guys noe anybody have this?  drool.gif
*
LOL... actually I do...

It's on its way from the States... wanted to buy 2 but buy 1 first, see how much is the postage since the Lego box itself already 15lb. the outer box might add another 4-6lb. to the final shipping figure.

And the freakin' shipping cost is killing me.... sad.gif

Will take some pix when it arrives... smile.gif

Asked my fren to help buy and send to me...
Normally would use third party service but they always charge too high... always overstate the outer box size thus cheat a kilo here, cheat a kilo there...

The skeleton sets are pretty hard to find yes, but the Snakemen sets are still available (although some like the rattlecopter aren't). Try searching under mykl1188 or kokejin and see - they usually have a range of LEGO stuff. Kokejin's stuff is usually really nicely priced (Jabba's palace for under RM600) while mykl1188 likes to break down his sets into separate smaller saleable pieces, so if you really want a certain figure but don't want the whole set, you can just buy the figure (although you pay a premium, it's still much cheaper than buying the whole set). Maybe get a Snakemen set? They're really fun to play with too. I couldn't find Garmadon's Fortress or the Fire Dragon Temple either (because my son really wanted a Samukai), so I bought the series DVD with the snakemen, watched the final episode with my son, and now I've got him the Epic Dragon Battle which I'm sure he'll love even more than either of the former two.
*
Ahhh... talking about the Epic Dragon Battle. I have one set for sale maybe. Bought it from Singapore couple of months back.
Wanted to sell at around RM550. My funds running low liao, need to pay for this and that, that's why have to sell some of my collection.

Not an offer to sell yet, but if can get good price, we can do it via COD only to safeguard my babies and for your security... smile.gif

hmm... seems like its not cheap also... :/
*
Cheap if you order many many things coz when consolidated, you only pay the inital USD24 for 1kg.
The rest is USD3.25 per 500g.

So if you order only 1 set, of course expensive lar.

If you have 3 sets, then you can average it out, so not so expensive lor.

Added on December 13, 2012, 6:02 pmThat's the problem with the shipping of Lego sets from abroad... we're more like shipping 'air' than the actual product coz the boxes that they come in is much bigger. The Quinjet I've ordered actually was housed in a 16.5kg carton box! And the actual box is only 4kg... go figure!

A friend from UK bought it for me... supposed to launch after 2nd Jan 2013!
I already reserved 2 sets for me and my friend. So I order extra just in case some other frens are interested.
I think that we're the first few in the world (outside of trade shows) to own this set!

I saw a few collectors here managed to snag some modular buildings. Once you are bitten by the modular building bug, there is no turning back!  sweat.gif

First you will start to get the past modular, then will try to bricklink the cafe corner, later will MOC your own modular.

Most importantly, you need a lot of space to store them fully built! But when you line them up in a row  laugh.gif

Another suggestion is to get Set no: 10230.

The Mini Modulars set! Currently going for around USD95.00.

One set covers all!
