if you can find one with good price, you can go for it. Change the absorber to those good quality ones after you buy. I have changed mine to better quality absorber and the ride is much better.

u sure u own a car now ? u saying anycar with full load can go genting easily ?? u are f***ing bullshit to others ppl here .. clearly your avanza FC as u claim is either u are driving like crazy  .. if a full load car going up genting need to press the pedal all out u also saying easy than i got nothing to say .. u try to take any standard car with same cc with avanza take full load 5 adult compare with avanza 7 adult go up genting than u come back say to me .. which 1 is easy .. i have try 1.5 avanza auto 7 adult + 4 children .. up genting and that avanza is a second hand mpv .. reason got so many people in that mpv is bcos during that trip 1 wira got problem need to park the car at cable car station ..

u are saying your brother 1.3 avanza same fc with ur waja .. and yet u claim fc is not good .. and that avanza is 1.3 compare to ur waja ? and the weight of both ?

A kancil with fully loaded also can go up genting la, u think they rev redline all the way up to genting ka?

I was only talking about fc, and you here reply me with performance for what.....

Yea, my waja fc not great why? My daily route to work in pj while using avanza 3 weeks the fc is similar to my waja

I have nothing againts avanza, i just share my fc of using avanza for 3 weeks in PJ city

To answer ts question, if you are on a tight budget, avanza is the best

My MPV is from 2005. A bit of wear and tear, but otherwise no problems. It is also much cheaper (nowadays) than the Avanza, the ride is perfectly fine even for the 3rd row, also when driving over speed bumps. I find it more comfortable than the Alza 3rd row, and much more comfortable than Touran 3rd row (mainly because of space and seating position, also the suspension + tyre combo is too stiff on the Touran). Feels more solid, has a much better safety rating (4 star EuroNCAP vs 3 star CNCAP (China NCAP, they test at lower speeds so that their fake cars don't get horrible ratings laugh.gif ). Great service center and affordable spare parts. Very easy to get into because of low floor, high roof, sliding doors. You would have to pay me to drive an Avanza instead. Pay me a lot. Then again I'm used to driving contis.

So no, I don't think the Avanza is a sensible option if you are on a budget.

How is the suspension compared to Rusa? Driven a Rusa today (in the back a few times, super bumpy, feels like the NASA is using the car to train astronauts for zero gravity flights...), surprisingly even for the driver it is like that. Left the seat while slowly going over a speed bump, in my Kangoo I can drive over that one at much higher speeds and not feel much. Even the steering occasionally feels light while driving over bumpy roads. Unbelievable.

OK, I see.

There are other, IMHO better options that are more affordable, better designed, engineered and built options.

The Vanette is not particularly good IIRC.

Today I could try the third row in the Alza. Actually acceptable if you are smaller than 1,65 or 1,70. After a while a bit uncomfortable, but better than Touran. Suspension is also OK, not bumpy. I still prefer my Kangoo, but the Alza is also not too bad.

The Avanza was built for the third world by third world engineers. That is not a good sign. That it did poorly in the very lenient Chinese crash test is also a bad sign.

... b'cos real owners with right expectation are using their Avz practically and happily. Oso most of them are mature, lazy to argue with keyboard warrior lol.
Another thing is Fast & Furious here ma, of cos no place for cars like Avanza lo.... if u choose to believe those -ve comments, oso up to u lo, Avz owners have nothing to lost anyway...hehe rclxms.gif

Only I am critical of the Avanza in this thread.

Why not buy something else? If you want a proper Toyota, get the Alza. Developed and designed by Toyota, for Japan. Avanza is done by some Indonesian engineers, for Indonesia, as a cheap transport, without putting any focus on safety. It should hopefully be reliable, although the handbrake button which seems to fall off after a short while is a bit worrying. But probably not so many affected.

Anyway I am driving a Kangoo. Not exactly a racing car, is it? But direct competitor to the Avanza... sort of. I quickly ruled out the Avanza when I was looking for a MPV. Stability, ride, intended audience (Europeans vs Indonesians... also as a European myself I am quite familiar with seeing Kangoos around, being used as family car. I know that Renault puts a strong focus on safety, that's what they are known for).
