Got myself the 30th Anniversary Resist Black DW-5030C.




I now have three different metal strap holders.

Our collection are very similar. LOL.

I am offered to buy the T5030C but the price is too ridiculous. I'd rather buy some other watches with that kinda money. I have a limit on how much I'm willing to pay for a G-Shock. Anything over the limit, it'll be for other watches.

I bought from BRD.Concepts, but the watch is still in transit since Monday... Guess PosLaju is a lil sow due to GE13, hopefully by tomorrow

I was told that the 5030C is getting harder and harder to get in Japan already. Which is why I decided to snap it up. That, and I found out the price for T5030C. Haha.

If you are interested, I was offered USD2,150 for it, inclusive of the Porter Yoshida bag. Delivers 17th May. Don't know how much is the retail though and I don't know what number is this piece. With only 200 in the world, I'm pretty sure it will be serialized. For watches like this, the serial number is quite crucial to watch collectors as well. Unless you don't mind any number.

For USD2,150 (around RM 6,500), I'll get a proper mechanical watch. That's too much for a G-Shock. Then again, that's my opinion.

BTW, anyone has a BlueTooth G-Shock? My Initial Blue GB-5600AA-A1JR is running low on battery. I used the BlueTooth function once (to test) and it's been in my drawer ever since. I wanted to wear it just now and it says Low Batt (flashing battery sign).

I got mine during Chinese New Year, which is barely 3 months ago. Wasn't expecting the battery to go out of juice so fast...

I hope the others telling you to remove the bezel and applying a screen protector was a joke.

While removing it is quite easy, applying a screen protector might make the watch thicker (regardless of how thin the screen protector is) and you might not be able to put the bezel back. If you look closely, there aren't any gaps between the bezel.

Based on my experience, the GA and GD series' watch straps are easy to take out but they are DAMN HARD to put it back in, even with proper tools. Then again, it might be because of my skills, or lack thereof.

Anyway, to answer your question, the bezel is sufficient enough to protect the glass. If you look closely again, the glass is much deeper in the bezel. Even if you put the watch face down on a flat surface, it won't touch the glass.

Unfortunately, I don't think there is a way to protect the bezel. Just use it carefully lor.

My 3 resist black arrive in Malaysia now retention lolx. The T5030C is just too expensive, the titanium frog is better, now price sky high too.

The Murakami Frogman is my wish too, along with the MMJ Frogman.





A while back I saw someone selling the Murakami Frogman for USD9k and the MMJ Frogman for more than 400,000 yen. I'm pretty sure those prices are overpriced though.

TBH, I'll buy a nice mechanical watch with that kinda money.

I'm a little slow on this but I just read Basel World news (for other watches actually) and saw this gem - G-Shock Rangeman.




It's still a prototype and it might not even be released.

I'm a sucker for G-Shocks with plenty of features. The Rangeman will be (if it's being produced) the first ever G-Shock to have ABC sensors (Altimeter, Barometer, Compass). The only watches in Casio's line with ABC sensors are the Protreks.

I've been contemplating buying a Protrek because of its ABC sensors. Now I don't have to. Let's hope this will get released in the near future.

I like Akira but i've seen the pictures the watch not so nice but the casing is sex.

I'm not Astroboy fan but i felt the design is nicer. And the price is good since normal ones are costing rm280-300 already.

I gave up the Ultraman ver because the case & display is nice but the watch is ok only.

I've got something to ask. I've got this g-shock gd100 and the classic casio f-91w. I'm wondering why gd100 is lagging behind the f-91w day by day. I think last week I set them to syncronize but today gd100 already lag 3 secs behind. Is there any setting that can make them totally in sync?

I bought mine expensive. I prebooked it to ensure that I get it. RM600 is quite ok if you ask me.
GF1000 batteries are rechargeable ones. It's close to impossible to get one in Malaysia. Apparently it's quite easy to get in Japan. DO NOT USE DISPOSABLE BATTERIES FOR THE WATCH.
RM40-50 seems reasonable but I don't think the O-Ring is included. Anyway, since you're able to quote the price, do you know where to get one?

I've tried big chain hardware stores, Radioshack, photo studios and practically all places I can think of that sells batteries but I can't find the ML2016 for my GW-200 Frogman. I am this close to ordering it from Japan. 

Marco said they'll need 1-2 months, even though when I told them it just needs a battery change...I have a feeling they don't have the battery themselves and they prefer to send the watch back to Japan for warranty instead.

I wanted to change the battery of my GW200K at Marco. They looked at it, told me to leave it there and it'll be ready in "one or two months"...

Yeap. Same. I asked around and they pointed me to the second floor. Ask the guy there, he took a look at it and told me it has to be left there. I asked how long, he said about 1-2 months. This was last year.

I only have one GA-110 because for analog watches, I prefer proper mechanical watches. Check my previous post in the spoiler.

If I can get a Rechargeable ML2016 battery, I'd do it myself too.
