Hi, can you suggest me a casing with good air flow except CM K280, no stock from my seller... cry.gif
is Aerocool VS3-advanced/strike x One advanced a nice casing to consider compare with K280?
*
Yes, but if you can grab Xigmatek Asgard Pro window/Asgard 381 window even better.

QUOTE(highbury1913 @ Dec 26 2012, 09:48 PM)
Thanks for the quick response. A few question as I'm a noob.

1) I don't have access to a SB CPU to update the BIOS. Will the guys at Viewnet/All IT/ etc be able to do it for me if I get them to put together the rig? If not, what are the alternative mobos?

2) Which version of the 650 ti is best? Is GAINWARD GeForce
GTX 650 Ti 2GB worth the extra money?
"Gold sample" is cheap here -http://www.ipmart.com.my/main/product/Gainward,GeForce,GTX,650,Ti,Golden,Sample,,1024MB,Graphic,Card,Gainward,Warranty,,363025.php?prod=363025

3) What are the advantages of the K280 casing? I'm not a fan of the design but if it is the best in its class in terms of ventilation, etc I can deal with it. What are the alternatives?

4) Is the SSD crucial (no pun intended)? Will it offer a big boost in speed? If it's not crucial I could put the money into a bigger monitor or some speakers. What would you recommend?
*
1) Ask them to update, else MSI Z77MA-G45 RM309

2) Do you find 2GB variant? http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/802109

3) Its advantage just good cable management & normal ventilation. You can pick from NXZT Source Elite 210, Thermaltake Comander MS-I snow, Xigmatek Asgard Pro window/ Asgard 381, Aerocool Strike X advance/VS-3 advance/X-predator X-1, Silverstone RL-02/RL-03.

4) SSD is optional, you can put it into monitor, suggest Dell U2412M.

Thank you so much for the help.

One final question, is the brand of GC important. I noticed lingloong has the LEADTEK WinFast GTX 650 Ti 2GB GDDR5 at RM555. How does LEADTEK compare to Gainward? Is the LEADTEK worth the extra rm100?

Thanks again for your help. I owe you roti canai smile.gif
*
If RM555 better up it to HD7850 1GB RM599 or 2GB variant RM650. Else Leadtek have 3-year warranty compared to Leadtek.

Hi guys, what do you thing of this rig?
CPU - Intel Core i5-2310 - RM565

MOBO - ASUS P8Z77-M RM325

RAM - Corsair XMS3 8GB DDR3 - RM149

SSD -  CRUCIAL M4 SATA III 2.5" SSD 128GB - RM355

HDD -  WD10EZEX / 1TB / 7200RPM 64MB SATA III - RM225

Soundcard - ASUS XONAR DG - RM135

Lite On DVD Writters - RM60

PSU -  CM GX-lite Power 600W - RM253

GPU -  SAPPHIRE HD 7850 1GB GDDR5 PCI-E -  RM575

Casing - Cooler Master Elite 371 - RM130

I mostly gonna use it for Gaming and a little bit photoshop.
*
Get the ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 for RM299 from Viewnet. x8 x8 CFX/SLI, overclocking support, ATX form factor. Though it's based on the slightly older Z68 chipset. Still supports IB CPUs though. (may require a BIOS update) or MSI MSI Z77MA-G45.

Do you need soundcard? SSD? That PSU are not recomended. A True Power 500W PSU can handle your hardware. FSP Hexa 500W RM150. CM K280 is better than CM Elite 371.

yeah not gaming but is that leadtek gt610 can run autocad , REVIT smoothly?
Cause i always do render
*
I give one quote by DarkSilver

CODE
Quadro DOESN'T HELP in RENDERING(assume the RENDERER doesn't support GPU).

Processor aka the CPU(Central Processing Unit) is the KEY for RENDERING SPEED.

Quadro GPU is for SIMULATION and SMOOTHER VIEWPORT only.

Even if the RENDERER supports GPU to render the stuffs, Quadro GPU is still a slowpoke for that. Cheaper GeForce GPU can outperform it easily.
Example:
2x Quadro FX 3800(So expensive) still loses to 1x GeForce GTX 460(Cheap) in RENDERING SPEED(GPU supported RENDERER).
But, when come to SIMULATION and VIEWPORT SMOOTHNESS, Quadro WINS! smile.gif

Keywords:
Viewport = The 3D Space which you model your stuffs, character, buildings, etc.
Simulation = Water, Fire, Smoke, Particles stuffs.
Renderer = The SOFTWARE you use to perform the RENDER aka Mental Ray, Vray, iRay, Maxwell, Rhino, RatGPU, etc.

QUOTE(spoonudus @ Dec 31 2012, 10:05 PM)
does b75 a better choice instead of the h77? or is it because u want to fit in the budget due to the rm 879 GC? optical out option does matter for my htpc setup and most b75 mobo doesnt have that, plus i need hdmi output, one is already in my gc for gaming purpose and one to hook up to my TV. I dont use hdmi for sound though, so audio quality of the mobo should be good too.
*
Not really, H77 have extra SATA3 port compared to B75. Asrock H77M have optical Optical SPDIF Out Port.

izzit okay?

Since your budget are only RM1.8K, these good enough. Although i think you better take i5 3470 RM560+- with HD7850 2GB since some sifu here said future games are capable/need more than dual core. You can easily change GC but changing a processor have many steps.
