You can use odin to flash custom recovery or flash ICS rom which can be downloaded from sammobile website. You can find instruction on how to use odin on the first page of this thread

Remember to go into recovery mode & clear data + clear cache before flashing using odin.
And don't forget to charge the phone to 100% before flashing.

Odin doesn't need installation.
Just download the software & run.
Recovery mode is not a package, just enter recovery mode before flashing, once you've cleared data & cache then you can continue flashing using PC Odin.

ok ,thank now i got the idea

done everything as per first page for recovery CWM done backup and succeeds,now back to galaxy tab screen.what next ya..download from sammobile latest firmware into sdcard and install by going thru power+volume process,and walk thru the menu,correct me if I am wrong

managed to get to CWM-based Recovery v.5.0.2.7.and already downloaded ICS 4.04 P6800DXLPS-P6800OLBLP7-XME.Zip on sammobile about 568.6MB.Do I need to copy p6800 file to external sd card and insert into my tab and run“ install zip from sd card "from the CWM based recovery menu or do it with Odin.

Files downloaded from Sammobile can only be flashed using ODIN. Those are stock ROMs.

Do note that your custom recovery will be restored with stock recovery after flashing stock ROM with ODIN.

Stock recovery is the recovery that came originally with the tab, before you put in your custom recovery (CWM)

just updated my tab to ics 4.0. so far so good. smooth when browsing. i like it alot.

but i notice that i cant zoom a page when i'm viewing a pdf magazine in ebook. any solution?
