QUOTE(kellefe @ Apr 21 2013, 02:46 AM) Hi all Almera owner here, after go through some page here , found out that Almera really a best bang buck b segment car we can get now... Climate control n intelligent keys r not just fancy stuffs. Just want to ask some opinion , Is it worth to get type V? Some said either go for cheapest type e or go for highest VL. The reason I consider Type V because of the air bag and some number of feature. Some of my friend suggest to go to type VL for only 3k. But it's seems that I do not require those fancy feature like start button etc. Any opinion can get from here ? They are convenient n useful upgrades... which you couldn't upgrade it yourself in future. You would never have to worry bout locking keys inside cars (it won't lock if keys inside car/boot), girls won't have to treasure hunt the handbags n could get into car faster, etc etc etc |

QUOTE(octop @ Apr 22 2013, 03:30 PM) My advice is you either take E or VL b'cse at spec V, the RM7000 on top of Spec E are paying more for cosmetic (appearance) accessories than practical useful stuff. Of course U don have any chance to bargain with TChong. Think of this way, the 7k is paid for the ticket to buy really useful stuff with extra 3k. This also explain E Spec is so hot selling. Moreover, you can get other practical useful stuff from accessories option i.e leather seat, sport rim ... etc. as an addon on E specs. Not only cosmetic, I think the decision making factor should b "is 1 airbag enough for you? Or you want 2?"Me too has considered on VL when placing order, but I found might as well pay another 3-4 k to buy Honda City which provide also similar features and wider chassis & more powerful engine (my preference). If you think 1 is enough then get E spec. Many buying E spec add RM 9.5k for full impul tuned package. Another, is the cabin space n foot space an issue for you? If it is then forget about other segment B cars, even Merc C class also couldn't beat Almera in this. But if that's not an issue then you have more choices to consider. Coz I'm tall n in other sedan, the back seat behind me is very uncomfortable; but in almera I could sit behind my driver seat setting comfortably. N Honda's maintenance $ cost a bomb to you. Consumers should consider Total Cost of Ownership (applies to all purchases, car/house/printer/softwares/etc) n not only the purchase price. It's very personal actually, Almera is more like a budget family car with good fuel consumption. If you're talking bout power n driver's car, confirm it's out from the list. Even Preve winning hands down, even if comparing Preve vs City, again that applies if you have no problem with Proton. It's all personal preference, there is no BEST car, ony the car that fits your requirements n budget. All cars are good. This post has been edited by kyleng: Apr 22 2013, 06:24 PM |

QUOTE(james_bond85 @ Apr 24 2013, 07:58 PM) Seriously. Nope. IMO If Almera is ugly then the best seller in msia by Toyota should b Fugly? That's y I never consider it. Lol.There are many that looks worse than it, even from conti. Just get what you want, you're driving the car, not others; if you have to consider everyone's opinion, you better start fall in love with walking. |

QUOTE(_ChAoS_ @ May 28 2013, 11:19 PM) Anyone have any comment on the speakers of the almera? There're only 4 speakers, i wonder if they can rival what City's 4 speakers can do... Personally I don't think city's speaker is any better than other factory speakers, same for almera (excluding those luxury cars). Factory speakers are normally full range speakers, n only cost few % of production cost. Upgrade to a decent 2-way or 3-way component set if you want more on quality. |

QUOTE(kimsim @ Jun 10 2013, 06:22 AM) Did you see the actual Almera front safety impact bar? Both front n back using foam. That is not for safety, basically just to support the bumper bit. The built is quite satisfied than others same type of cars. ![]() ![]() Nowadays many entry level cars r like that Coz they r light weight, just that you won't know until you remove the bumpers. QUOTE(SniperUnit @ Jun 13 2013, 09:46 AM) Finally got mine! Very satisfied with the car so far. In most cases, that sound from rear are caused by loose nuts at exhaust. Just tell them whatever complain you have n they'll try to fix it. If couldn't bear with it, don't have to wait for 1k, can go anytime. But the waiting time at SC is =.="1 thing troubling me is like what has been posted the GREEKKK ...GREEKK... sound and I think it's from the back or exhaust pipe side. Seems like this is the standard issue for E spec?? Will get them to fix it when I service for 1k km. Got free umbrella, RM200 tint voucher, full tank petrol, free iced lemon tea at SC and free photo hehehehe |

QUOTE(ahchun @ Jun 13 2013, 06:54 PM) This is what I ask for. I don't want voucher coz actual value is very less than its stated. Noise from engine, for my experience with my Amy, I would say I'm pretty satisfy. Only thing we need to improve is sound proofing for 4 doors, roof n rear boot, + door seals for the wind noise.I am not sure how good it is coz this few days is cloudy. Need to wait real hot only can feel it. If u hear it from outside I do agree quite lous. But from inside car i think its very quiet. At least for my case. |
