I think it's best to apply debit card for alliance bank saveplus account, and at least it is accessible using alliance bank ATM machine if apply and activate the card after account opening via the app.
I open alliance bank saveplus account recently. Initially, I'm using huawei phone to tried open the account by downloading allianceonline app from huawei app gallery since I'm using the huawei phone as my main device, but that option didn't appeared on the app. At first i through it was not available, so I download the same app but on the android phone which had full GMS service. On that time, that option is available so I'm not sure why alliance bank did not update the app to full feature on the ones for huawei device, seems weird.
But then, the app on android phone with gms service is really PAINFUL! At initially when using the app on the gms android phone, when open it, just few minutes later, it gives me a message saying operation failed, contact customer support (reason root evidence) and the app closes it.
So i had to uninstall and reinstall the app and then open the app and quickily perform the application for the saveplus account by hit saveplus account button as soon as app opens. This time, during application process by entering ic number take selfies take mykad photo, the app was so laggy and buggy as hell it keep freezing every single time. And just after i manually close and re open the app because the app frozen at half way process, same root evidence error message appeared and again closes the app.
So i had to try the app on another android device with gms service. On another device, the app rans with no problem and no stupid root evidence error, but because my saveplus application on previous device was incomplete at the time due to error message and buggy performance including app freezing, I cannot resume my application on another device and I had to do complete on previous device.
So I had to call alliance bank customer service. They told me to reset the device, clear cache and even uninstall and reinstall the app. At first it did not fix that issues at all, but then just after few tries, it does fix some but still buggy. This time, the application process goes mostly well as taking photo of mykad, selfie, fill the form and then perform initial deposit transfer from my another bank. After that, the app goes ok at first glance after account login, some parts of app, particularly settings, was slow as hell. But then after i manually close the app and reopen the app just to check, the app gives me a same root evidence error message again and the app closes it.
So I reset the device, re eanble all bloatware that i do not even use it because i did disable some bloatware from long time before i open the account on the app, changing the phone settings (this time i change home navigation buttons) and even turn on off wifi. This time, it opens ok and login no issue, but because I would get the same error again that makes me more frustrating, so after open the app and login the account, i had to quickly terminate mobile service on settings so that I can login on another device. Since i can login the account on same app but on my main huawei device with same login credentials just after account opening with online banking signed up, I decided to login on my main device with same login credentials. On the main device, the same app runs fine and login without issues, just a bit slow but better than the one I used to open the account on same app run with gms service.
I'm waiting for debit card to arrived and I had to wait do 12 hours after login so that I can perform the transaction. That 12 hours wait is a typical cooldown period due to security reasons. After debit card arrived and activate it, I can perform transaction on the new account, especially ATM access.
