*
yes, if you can flash custom rom made for i9300 means your phone is really i9300 samsung..

Your's SME set..is it..?
Why not post it back to M'sia and ask somebody (your family member perhaps) to bring it for service centre here.
Once everything okay then can post it back to you.
Quite a hussle but it's the fastest way to revive back your phone rather than waiting till April
*
posting phone (electronic device) back to malaysia can easily be held by custom. dont risk it.

And why would kastam wanna hold the phone..? It's SME local set with Sirim already paid. Not that we're importing AP set into M'sia  doh.gif
*
my experience, you cant simply ship in any electronic device, they will hold your item and request you to come forward to clear tax. then your friend/family will need to go there and prove this and that to tell them you are not buying from oversea bla bla bla.

just my 2 cent, you guys can try to ship and maybe there is luck out there.

if you sure all apps were closed, then very likely is a usb related problem:
a lot of user encountered issue of l2_hsic:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1656705

temporary solution is to shutdown phone - pull battery - reinsert battery - start phone

and if you charge your phone, always screen on the phone, go to your home screen, and unplug your USB. This could help to prevent the l2_hsic wakelock problem

I'm not sure whether this is normal or not,
on daily usage basis, for about 12-14 hours normally,
my phone always died when passing screen usage around 2 hours 30 min.
wifi is on all the time 90%.

you think normal ?

brightness auto ( probably 20-40% mostly)

using wanam v5
*
with 2.5hour screen on time and not sure what is your daily usage, whether 3g or 2g mode, how many apps running, how many email account pushing, and etc,
but with this stats, i can say it is fair, but it can be improved as well

*
go to recovery mode, wipe data, wipe cacha, advanced wipe dalvik cache

after all wipe then reboot
else after all wipe then flash again

Ah... Ok... Thanks..

ODIN3 -> PDA -> Flash?

if flashing the zip file, you should use CWM
unless you are trying to flash the boot.img file, then use ODIN PDA.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1993044

there were alot of phone reported sudden death at XDA forum,
the death just happens to any phone, suspected to be flash corrupted.
i read several pages, a lot of incident happens when the users let their phones charged overnight and next thing they found their phone wont turn on.

this death also happens to both stock rom, custom rom, stock or 3rd party kernel, so it is not rom/kernel related issue, but is hardware related issue.

some in XDA saying their phones were "Made by Samsung" -- seems to be first batch..

and my phone is the first batch too, so dangerous..

I did start to analyse the data and tried to come up with some common factors. However the more data collected the more random it all seems.

There is nothing in common with country of purchase, ROM (ICS AND JB, stock and custom) although 98% of people were on JB. I'm also pretty sure this all started after JB release, but it could be coincidence.
I don't have enough info to figure out if purchase date matters, most are bought 'around' the release date but some aren't.

My best guess at the moment is either a faulty batch of boards or something to do with the battery/charger.
I'm keeping a close eye on this thread and gathering info.

It could be about time to go to Samsung with it and see what they have to say.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...1&postcount=161

i also noticed that this sudden death happened since Jelly Bean rom released. so maybe JB really screwed the phone. hopefully forumer here can help gather some data.
check what is the rom/kernel your phone running now, what is the charger you were using during the problem happened.

now,
i reset my binary counter to 0,
no using samsung charger, i use desktop battery charger instead (i have extra battery kit, so changing battery when 1 run low)

that is not call color fade >.<
that is chip off
and mostly those that were replaced is not from Malaysia
its from other countries where the consumer laws is well protected
I nvr overcharge my phones
*
i read from the xda thread, some saying could be the LPM (low power mode) in Jelly bean rom,
like when your phone running very low in battery and it entered LPM, if you charge that time with your phone on, the i/o might write at some sector that it shouldnt

some saying that jelly bean has a bug and cant detect the charging source correctly, that's why there were a lot of user complaining their phone has slow charging. the similiar bug seems to deliver extra voltage that break the motherboard.

but no firm root cause at the moment, all were still guessing around.

it seems that your phone motherboard faulty like other unlucky owners

can you describe more about the incident?

was your phone being charged overnight and next morning found it not turning on anymore?
was your phone running stock rom/firmware?
what was your phone purchase date?

bear in mind that increasing the charging rate will shorten the battery life span. you need to make a balance between charging speed or battery life span.

hrm i did left it charged overnight but morning I can still make calls but after about 15 minutes the screen can't turn on (LED is still flashing indicating got msg) so I hold the power button in hope to off and boot it again, only to found it unable to boot at all afterwards.

Rooted, Running ARHD v15 ROM

Gotten from Maxis around end of June
*
bro, you are 1 of the unlucky owner
check this xda thread, a lot of international owner had their phone suddenly dead
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1993044

a lot of them were charging overnight and next morning phone dead, and right before the phone dead they saw LED blinking blue but screen wont turn on regardless of any button pressed. once removed battery then they couldnt turn on the phone anymore.

some of the users saying their phone act weird, slow, lag before the phone dead, did you overcome any of these symptoms?

most of the dead phone were running Jelly bean 4.1.1 or stock based custom rom (like omega wanan or ARHD), but there were also some reported running on ICS or AOSP rom, so it seems not related to rom.

a lot dead phone were actually first batch phone with the sticker stating "Made by Samsung"
do you mind to check where did your phone made from? take off the battery, check whats written on the sticker.

i am sorry for your lost..

ya before (to do dual boot)
now remove the 2nd rom and flash back stock kernel tongue.gif
lol then forget about it then
to use higher ampere charger to charge s3 ~
*
if your phone detected the charger is AC, it will limit the current to max 1 ampere, regardless of how high the ampere rating of the charger.
but i have seen once at note 1, i use 2 ampere iPAD charger to charge it, the software will pop up a notification saying it detect high voltage and it disabled charging to protect the phone..

a piece of advice, dont go for APs... you might get a fake, seriously, the build quality is quite close with the original set.
*
my s2 i9100g test with antutu 3.0.2, result got
8170

previously test with antutu 2.9.1, result was 6100 if remember correctly.

so, what is the antutu version you tested?
