QUOTE(Everdying @ Feb 16 2013, 12:46 PM) rm9xx? rubber strap? price ok la. I too fancy an orient pepsi mako rather than an SKX009... I like the bezel on the Mako... I also find the mako much easier to wind up due to the pie rotor design.if want cheaper, get orient mako...should be rm400 or under...still owned by seiko anyway ![]() |

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Jun 27 2013, 12:51 AM) Thanx sniper Its in great condition I guess, the chronos reset quick fast and spot on the 12 o'clock. chrono buttons nice and loose. only some lume deterioration on the hands. Got it with a black leather strap and replaced it with a brown suede type with deployment clasp. Now sourcing a bracelet for it. will post pics when I find a suitable one |

Same watch
I was confused initially too. but apparently this is NOT the SRP455K1 which comes with blue rubber strap and has standard 6 digit serial no. This is the SRP461K1 which comes with SS bracelet and numberd XXX/500 |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Jul 31 2013, 10:54 AM) which then makes you wonder, how limited exactly is the rubber strap version seeing as how seiko just managed to make another 500 pcs with the bracelet hmm perhaps just like the baby Tuna's case... got brown, got black, got red, and now blue... all also limited |

QUOTE(faizrajaie @ Aug 5 2013, 06:38 AM) im new to seiko and getting one soon, starting from lower level, and wondering does seiko watch have original and fake?because i made some research on internet some of them selling quite cheap and some second hand seiko watch ( 2-3 months old) selling higher,,im referring to only to the military seiko 5 series,.anyone have any idea on this matter? Unfortunately there ARE seiko fakes out there but thankfully these are very easily spotted. And the favourite model that is counterfitted is the SKX007 Black and 009 Pepsi divers watch. The fakes have a floating "5" emblem in between the glass and can handwind (miyota movement perhaps) Another obvious fake Seiko is if its Quartz (battery) but still has a seiko "5" logo. As a rule of thumb ALL Seiko 5 are automatics with day/date display. IIANM. |

err I thought that The "5" stands for the watch's 5 principal attributes:
1. Diaflex (unbreakable mainspring), 2. Diashock (Seiko's shock resistant design, equivalent to the Swiss "Incabloc"), 3. Automatic winding, 4. day/date indication, and 5. Water resistant. but as it turns out there were a few handful that were Quartz : http://www.flickr.com/photos/russell_w_b/4222427193/ This post has been edited by fariq_azad: Aug 5 2013, 12:18 PM |
