sygate is freeware & easy to configure.

actually how good a firewall software is depend on how u configure it. for me, i'm using ZA Pro 6.5. the error in the vsmon.exe only occurs when u use torrent programs. i've experieced this a few times b4. i saw that some of u guys complaining that ZA is quite resource hungry and slow startup time.

actually u can configure ZA not to load when windows xp startup. this will significantly improve the startup time, unless u configure ur pc to connect to the internet on startup, then that is another story. about slow to load when u manually open ZA, how do u define slow? 10 sec, 20 sec, 1 minute?? for me, it takes about 10 seconds to load. my pc spec is: s478 P4 3.2GHz C class with 1 GB of RAM

As in I can't edit the configuration, it's blank there...
No no for me, I don't want to have the same thing happen again now...
