I am very the super happy with my Nikon Coolpix P7100 semi-pro/high-end compact camera. Its battery life is amazing, to say the very least. I used it the whole day, from like 12pm to 10pm yesterday for casual photoshots in Mid Valley...and did some in-camera reviewing and editing this morning. The battery shows no sign of reducing! I was utterly surprised by its battery performance.
On top of that, images taken with the P7100 are of DSLR quality. Sharp, bright and good in low light are among the few positives I have in terms of IQ. Speed-wise, I don't see any problem with that. The flash charging time was quite immediate, same goes to the auto focus. Shutter delay was virtually non-existant.
For those who is looking for a backup to their DSLRs or for those amateur photographers turning pro, the Nikon Coolpix P7100 is an absolute must-have.

What is so special about those street photos? An uncle or an aunty can shoot those photos using their compact cameras, in my opinion... Don't flame me. I am just putting my thoughts into words...

QUOTE(Silverfire @ Jan 15 2013, 11:10 PM) Glassception My nephew Both shot with the 35 1.8G of course. In crop, the focal length should be multiplied by a factor of 1.5x. 35mm is effectively 52.5mm on DX and 50mm is 75mm effective. At the same aperture ratio, the 50mm will product more bokeh with less depth of field with its longer focal. Any EXIF data for Glassception? Thanks

QUOTE(Silverfire @ Jan 16 2013, 12:33 AM) Do you mean too close or too far from the subject? I would rather crop the photo than miss things with slight longer focal length. The 50mm 1.8D do not have rounded blades like the 35mm 1.8G. So when the 50mm 1.8D stops down a little it will show hexagonal bokeh instead of round ones. Usually G lenses have better smoother bokeh. Usually when wide open even with normal blades bokeh balls would still be round to a certain extend, if not mistaken Street Photog They say the Sigma is faster and more accurate too. You can YouTube for Tamron/Sigma side by side focus speed test Add some monochrome grains to the photo above and that will give you a truly nostalgic feel to it. QUOTE(celciuz @ Jan 20 2013, 09:59 AM) Online seller, doesn't have a physical shop but its a registered company. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Yannick-Camera/Nice~ Thanks pal! But after a short visit to his Facebook page and his Official Website, I can see he only focuses on DSLR accessories. Nothing much for semi-pros. Actually I am looking for an adapter tube and a wide-angle converter for my Coolpix P7100 but they are no where to be found, except going all the way to China via online order. Stuffs from China can be trusted? I really doubt. Any peeps know any trusted kakis from e-bay or amazon.com selling camera accessories?

I have a question, peeps.
Can you guys just take other people's photos and post them in forums, online albums and whatnot for everybody to view and download? Isn't this violating the person's privacy?
For example in Kopitiam, if we post other people's Facebook photos in a thread, the thread will be closed and the poster warned.

QUOTE(Everdying @ Jan 22 2013, 12:38 PM) thats cos kopitiam are a bunch of retards. u can post a pic of a square also and they will make stupid comments, what more a pic of someone else but the way i see it, for normal ppl... someone post a pic elsewhere and offer it for public to see, then there really is not much difference between you reposting the pic or just reposting the link to the pic. unless of cos u are trying to pass off someone else's pic as your own. Whoa, pal! Be careful of what you say, man. Those flers from Kopitiam might just stumble upon your remark and God knows what they might do to you. Hahaha! On a more serious note, it is 100% alright to share a photo of someone without his/her knowledge lahh? What if the person sees it and gets mad or something, and starts accusing you of infringing his/her privacy?

QUOTE(MrAkay @ Jan 21 2013, 11:20 PM) spam pic! took this at a photo class last week MFA_5735 by Farid_Ariffin, on Flickr QUOTE(Everdying @ Jan 22 2013, 12:57 PM) again, what privacy is there if the picture is posted on a public forum / social photo-sharing sites? lets assume ur talking about fb...see this little t&c? http://www.facebook.com/legal/termsso anyone can use the pic, provided they dont pass it off as their own. OK, I am clear on the part on Facebook. What I mean to say now is that if you snap a photo of someone you don't know, like the photo above, and then you post it online without the knowledge of that person, isn't this infringing the person's privacy?

QUOTE(razuryza @ Jan 22 2013, 01:45 PM) if u so scared, dont shoot, and dont post.. simple I brought the question forward not because I am scared or anything, my pal. Just wanna clear some doubts in my head. As you know, I am not an expert like yourself and everyone else here. So I do not really know the etiquette and the rules of photography. That's why I asked. Hope you are clear now, my pal.

QUOTE(Everdying @ Jan 22 2013, 01:27 PM) that obviously depends on what the arrangement is between u and the person u shot / organization u shot for. same with the non-existent street photography laws in malaysia...tho there is the law of the parang OK! QUOTE(Shiitake @ Jan 22 2013, 03:06 PM) obviously u cannot post photo of someone that u don't know, even if it's a paid assignment, i.e photoshoot ahmoi, by right, u cannot simply post the picture unless u have their model release, by all mean u have their consent. for event, wedd or etc, it depends on ur contract. In Bolehland, people don't take this as a serious issue. Ahh, I see. But in this thread, I saw so many people posting photos of pretty girls. I am not sure if they have the pretty girls' consent or not lahh. So that's why I am trying to find out what is the right thing to do.

QUOTE(Shiitake @ Jan 22 2013, 03:25 PM) i dunno...if i said lebih2..people will bash me. here to give u some illustration about this matter. Sample of legal formsQUOTE(MrAkay @ Jan 22 2013, 05:23 PM) in bolehland, everything is fine if u kene sue, dont worry. no one will know what to do cos it never happens! but on the serious side, if ur going to use those pictures to make money then u should get the consent of the person in the picture. i think it only becomes an issue when money is involved. if no money then ppl buat bodoh only.. Thanks, guys for your feedback! Appreciate them a lot.
