On a side note, he mentioned that I should turn off my modem when not using so that they can upgrade when it is off and the upgrade will be done within a week. Seriously?

TS .. Innacomm W3400V has many issues and I dont know why they still bundle with 4Mbps package. Maybe they have to do some research before throwing in free stuffs in the said package.

As, far I know 4Mbps can only support fewer modems in the market, TM used to give the bulky BILLION where I found very stable for 4Mbps but later discontinued ..

Same result.  sad.gif
I should've asked for his name but how does the upgrade REALLY work anyway?

QUOTE(WaCKy-Angel)
Not sure if TS typed wrongly, it should be 192
Ya typed wrongly, sorry about that.

yeah, you can try any of these ..

192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 smile.gif

there's no way for remotely firmware updating by tech personnel unless remote configuration is set via router or TeamViewer for example.

Common, this youself .. how he gonna access your connection if your modem / router is turned off?

he lied biggrin.gif

Well when I registered for the upgrade they mentioned either D-Link or Innacomm and I asked for D-Link and they replied only if got stock. Earlier I asked the tech about D-Link, immediate answer: no stock.

Yeah I prefer 3rd party modem BUT they're kinda pricey, for me anyway =/

Okay, I did in this order:-
1. Disabled network adapter
2. Changed LAN cable port
3. Enabled network adapter

Still not working.

I don't think I'm on IPv6 and just tried it (with and without the http://) it went to search (Chrome) and in Firefox, this: The address wasn't understood

There's a check in the IPv6 box under Control Panel -> Network & Internet -> Network & Sharing Center -> Change Adapter Settings -> Right Click + Propeties meaning I'm using IPv6?

Unchecked and still with same result.

yes, its on IPv6 .. try turn off your firewall at the computer and retry

alternate IP check at http://checkip.dyndns.org

same range means ure LAN IP fall under 192.168.1.x .. if u configured as static, turn it to AUTOMATIC

The IP was and is set to automatic. If any, for the DNS, I'm using Google DNS.

At any rate, I've set DNS to automatic and tested with both 192.168.1.1 and my IP -> same result

If any, my previous modem (Linksys) worked perfectly with the 192.168.1.1 before it went kaput.

Windows version: Windows 7 Ultimate

i just tested my another machine .. turning off the firewall and i couldnt access 192.168.1.1 hmm.gif .. probably the tech guy u were saying disabled the router firewall, if the router firewall is disabled, you cannot access the router configuration page.

the only way is to reset the router and reconfigure ure username and password (for streamyx / unifi) again nod.gif

u may proceed if ure aware of the procedures and configuration method smile.gif

Well anyway, problem wasn't solved mate and I did try to use another PC/laptop (starting post) to access 192.168.1.1

About resetting modem, I'll wait for Xploit Machine to see if s/he can help work out before I try the reset method.  smile.gif

Tried your method:
1. Restart -> Unplugged LAN cable
2. In Windows, used Wireless
3. 192.168.1.1 @ IE, same result
4. Disconnected from Wireless -> connected using LAN cable
5. Enabled Local Area Connection
6. After connected -> #3

I suppose need to hard reset like miezaidin mentioned, BUT what if after hard reset, still cannot access 192.168.1.1? Please don't tell me call TM.
