Guys, there is a tik tik sound coming from my dashboard on rough roads. Nothing when idle. The sound is from the front passenger side dashboard, somewhere near the aircond vent. Very irritating! Any solutions?

MyVi 1.5SE Manual btw =)
*
I know it may sound from the dashboard, but try knocking on the front passenger door from the inside - do you still hear that sound?

Will try that ASAP!

Nope! No sound from the doors. Banged it like crazy still silent!  icon_question.gif

I just hope the sound can be resolved. Really annoying that sound  rclxub.gif

If that's not the case, and it's from the passenger side - try driving with the glove box open or removed entirely? My squeaks used to come from the glovebox because the closing clip wasn't tight enough where it made room for wriggling.

Thanks for answer ! By the way , the bulb type is same as the other new myvi 1.3?
*
Can't be entirely sure, but likely yes. I know the old Myvi doesn't use the same bulbs though.

well, i am not keen in what-so-ever ARB's, so it is make human sense to ask.. since ppl in FB saying something like reduce the cabin noise.. who knows...  cool2.gif

It ain't a bad question - but I think it is human sense to question the legibility of it before asking others whether it makes sense. laugh.gif

Bro, try this.

For tire
Hot Rims All Wheel and Tire Cleaner

After that Wash
Ultimate Wash & Wax

Cleaners
Smooth Surfaces Clay Kit

Wash Again
Ultimate Wash & Wax

Then apply
Synthetic Sealant

Tire finishing
Endurance Tire Gel

Finishing after 6 to 8 hours applying Synthetic Sealant
Ultimate Quik Wax

smile.gif
*
Sealants are supposed to be placed before the waxing - you are right in this case, but Wash and Wax, as the name implies - has wax. You need a shampoo that strips the wax off before you apply sealant.

Bro, it's very subjective. If you can afford it why not  smile.gif .
If u so into the actual steps, please go for NXT Car Wash, Hyper Wash, Shampoo Plus or gold class before Sealants approach.

Been doing that ever since without any issue  smile.gif
*
Not a problem. It's just that sealants have to be in contact with the clear coat for it to work, hence 'sealant'.

I'm an Optimum user - as their products are hard to obtain and at times pricey, I love ONR and OPC, they work very well for me.

It's not related to the steering column issue, but another issue altogether.

Yes it would unless you really maintain it by polishing or put coating on it. It's a Solid Colour not Metallic, that's why it takes more effort to maintain it lol
*
There isn't a difference between solid and metallic colors, in terms of durability. The white turning yellowish is due to the clearcoat oxidizing, or with dirt embedded into the paint.

Also, IINM P2 uses single stage paint (clearcoat and basecoat mixed together). There's a good readup here.

guys, is it normal for the 1.5se manual gear level to vibrate while driving/idle? it's kinda unpleasant to hold the gear stick while driving.

Mine vibrates as well - shouldn't be a problem.

Hi all. I'm thinking of getting the SE 1.5 manual version. Anything to share bout it? biggrin.gif Btw, how's the sound system? I'm not getting the Navi one cause I can get it done outside for alot cheaper. Should I swap the rear speakers with new ones when I get the car? Sifus pls advice biggrin.gif
*
I have the 1.5 MT. The shifter's sloppy, paired with a mushy clutch - but I get by. Not much of a choice when we have so little full spec manuals in the market.

Rear speakers use a 3 screw layout compared to most aftermarket speakers which use a 4 screw layout, so you may have to perform drilling to mount it properly. To add, there isn't much reinforcement for the plastic door near where the rear speakers are located so it tends to rattle when you play heavy bass.

Otherwise, your FC and acceleration is much better than the equivalent auto. The MT uses hydraulics to engage the clutch rather than using a cable, and the fluids are shared with the brakes. Not sure about the rest, but I have problems with the clutch pedal getting stiffer as the car heats up. Turns out that there is insufficient lubrication between the slave cylinder pushrod and clutch fork, which I will rectify after CNY.

But yes, no regrets on a manual smile.gif

Thanks for the great reply. smile.gif Appreciate it. Aww the door will rattle? Sigh. Cause I have some high end 6.5 inch subs with 4 screw layouts. Guess I'll ask the accessories shop bout it. Thanks again!

Happy CNY btw. smile.gif
*
It even rattles with the stock speakers on. Also, feel free to ask about anything else, simple or in-depth.

Have a great CNY.

what do you mean by not much reinforcement? not really understand...
i just change my speaker
and one more thing, if i put woofer, how i want to take out the spare tyre?
*
The door has few clips which attach itself to the door chassis, but the isn't any at the speaker's closest corner. That area rattles against the door chassis.

As for your woofer, you don't have a choice - you'll have to take out the sub.

Hi all.
Just want to ask, when the car is idle and the AC is running, does sometimes the lights (headlights & map light) dim abit when the cooler fan kicks in?

Or maybe because I added active subwoofer (and messing with the electric current of the car) ?
*
It's normal. It's due to the sudden current demand when the air-cond compressor kicks in.

I did that also. Reduces the squeaky noise, but not completely.

Another solution I found is spray WD40 at each plastic contacts of the glove box (of course you have to take out the glove box first), especially at the hinge there. Now no more sound.

Anyone here can try what I did and see if it solves the squeaky noise problem  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif
