No la,just want see see only. But personally i prefer seiko design than patek. Patek looks a bit weird
*
Here talk talk can la. Nothing to see.

Nowadays not many affordable world time watches released. Even that Seiko was introduced a few years ago and Orient also stopped launching W-T watches. GMT got la. Today there are 40 world time zones in use plus DST making it obsolete. An old relic from 1930's.

If you want to see see and read read UTSE.
Need assistance? -> <Click me>

If you want to see see touch touch feel feel test test and maybe buy buy then go to a shop selling watches nearest to you. Of course if you go to a chicken shop then cannot find la. laugh.gif

Only question is... Do you guys think its too small for my wrist?
*
The size is perfect, watch and strap in proportion with your wrist. Looking cute is an additional bonus too. laugh.gif

Finally got my first automatic watch. I have been pondering whether to go for Tissot, Tag, Certina or Rado and I ended up with this beauty. Oh yea, it came with a free gift, a Caran d'Ache pen.  thumbup.gif Thought of sharing this with you guys. Any Rado lovers here btw?

Rado reminds me of the 70's. Not a big fan of Rado watches, but the design of your watch is quite nice and modern. It's groovy. thumbup.gif
Can you please PM the damage?

Perhaps, you might consider getting this one too. <Link>
Makes an excellent pairing.

Just found out there's a diver's model too.
A watch that I could wear at any function without looking awkward. Very tempting.

Yea, I saw this in their catalogue as well, looks good. The design more or less the same like mine but being a diver watch, the water resistant is 30 bar while mine is just 10 bar.  Get it, don't think further  rclxm9.gif

A Rado is in the hit list. The only factor now is when.

A few more Seiko watches and this monster in the coming months....

Fuh... tungsten carbide bezel. Same stuff used for anti-tank rounds  sweat.gif
*
It's more widely used for cutting tools and drill bits. laugh.gif
IMO Wolfram Carbide has a better marketing appeal.

I'm thinking of changing my watch soon as there is a small crack beside the glass (Not that visible though) with water vapors under my watch. Thanks!!!
P.S. Recommendations - Just not so expensive please like Rolex etc. I'm still an undergrad student.  sad.gif
*
What watch is that? Just get it fixed. Replace the crystal with Sapphire glass.

That Florence place is part of my tour. From web info apparently the quality of italian watches are almost as close to Swiss made watches since Swiss is just across the border. My aim is to get a good quality ones.Any other names that I should look out for?
*
Not an expert on Italian watches. UTSE on the following brands:

Alessandro Baldieri
ANONIMO Firenze
Breil
Cairelli
Cavenago
Decima
Drass Watch
ENNEBI
Enzo Mechana
SEA GOD
SECTOR
U-BOAT

Maybe I missed a few and someone else can chime in.

@Catnip, I was told by the sales representative that Rado will increase the price of their watches by 15% by April this year. Seem to be an instruction from their HQ. Not sure how true is that, might be just a sales tactic but well.
*
Thanks for the heads up. Annual price increase is the norm for Swiss watches.

QUOTE(Tij @ Feb 22 2013, 11:03 AM)
It's just a RM100+ Casio watch with 100M water resistant lol. That's why I was asking if it was worth it to change the glass or get a new watch (suggested by my uncle). The back of the watch states that the model is MTD-1061.

A new watch with sapphire crystal cost close to 1K and and above. It's your call.

It looks nice. Congrats. IMO its more like your first Credor rather than a Seiko though. laugh.gif
Also, I see that you prefer hand winding movements.
Out of curiosity, if you don't mind sharing, what's the brand of your first watch and watches owned over the years?

Has been Casio the entire time when I was a kid till I become 17, then it's tag with my own $$ that I make from work.
So it's my 1st seiko. Lol

I love handwind.

Yeah right. wink.gif You are just being modest. I'm pretty sure that you have more than just Casio and Tag watches hidden under your bed.

Impulse buy today  doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif
GA-200SH
Looks nice but I prefer the design of GA-110 series.
What triggered the impulse and is there any special reason for choosing this watch?

With a budget of below 7k for a brand new watch.
I've notice brands like, Tissot, Oris, Mido, Epos, Edox, Longines, Nomos and maurice (not sure whether in this price range), which one would be a better brand in term of quality and brand heritage (automatic movement)?

Would like to see your views on this as the amount of options you have, how do you guys decide on the brand you choose.
*
If you prefer the design of Nomos watches, take a look also at Stowa's line up.

QUOTE(patryn33 @ Mar 11 2013, 11:47 AM)
No many talk about jap movement on the seiko thread.
Looks like its more looks than movement.
*
A majority of watch owners don't really care whats inside their watch. As long as they are discussing about Seiko watches and generate interest in others reading the thread, that is good enough.

The balance spring regulator on the 6S28 and 8R28 are different too. Just by comparing both and noting the difference you would probably guess which movement is more expensive without knowing the price before hand.

Didn't notice that...why then the hoohah over the 8R28?

On another note... on this today. Probably needs some new shoes for variety

Hoohah? I don't understand what you are trying to say....
Anyway,
IIANM, 6SXX movements are JDM while 8R28 is available in selected markets worldwide.
I like the 6S37 and the Credor variant 6S77. SBDS001 is in my wishlist.
2 8R28 LE models are available in Malaysia imported by Thong Sia.
SRQ001 and SRQ007
-----------------------------------------------
Nah, you need another Rolex.....
How about a Daytona?

Also the painted highlights on the buttons has completelyl flaked off... so there's a lot that needs replacing  laugh.gif
*
I estimate the bezel would cost around RM100+. Excluding labor. Not sure about the buttons and whether it is standard replacement parts during overhaul like mechanical chronos, but if it is painted and still looks good then just repaint it. All parts for SNJ007P1 is still available if you choose to replace it though. Once discontinued and no stock then cannot do anything....

As for the Japanese concept of Wabi & Sabi, all I need to do is look at the person staring at me in the mirror every morning. Every year it gets more depressing.... sad.gif
