if it was me, I'd get the MK-II AEUG version instead. (Make sure its V2 tongue.gif ) First off is the color...I always prefer white laugh.gif Secondly, the stand. Its unique, the only one in MG history and it can be combined with Zeta V2 stand smile.gif

anyway, I was taking a look at dannychoo.com pics and guess what I found
Strike Gundam (Clear Pearl Shift)
Blue Frame Astray 2nd L (Extra Finish) - probably the best looking extra finish ever to me
HG Destiny (Clear version)
OMFG - MG FREEDOM GUNDAM (CLEAR VERSION!!!)
*
tongue.gif i like blue better haha... more ganas...
The stand provided with the AEUG MKII is indeed nice, especially with the rising platform. But it is more suitable for standing poses, like the mecha stored inside a bunker... The Zeta / Strike's launchpad stand is better looking.

But I kinda like the rafflesia of F91... very unique.
Meh... my RM1 clothes hanger stand will do just fine tongue.gif

Clear version models look really cheesy, if not ugly IMO. Extra finished models are also not as good as the plain colored one. My friend's extra finished Zeta looks really cartoonish, and the panel lines effect are not as nice. Furthermore the increased price is not really worth it, not forgetting the little bits of damage to the parts when you trim the excess bits from the runner. doh.gif

6K yen for extra finished 2ndL compared to the normal 2500 yen. OMFG... might as well get a few more MGs.

U're from JB too? JB is a desert for gundam modelling... There used to be a model shop at 5th floor Plaza Pelangi which have been present for quite a long time, but it's no longer there. The only other modelling shop I know is at AEON Tebrau City Mall, beside the GSC cinema, but the price is appalling.

The alternative would be Jaya Jusco outlets, which sells at Litt Takk prices but often with 10 or 20% discounts during sales. The Store, Lien Hoe Complex used to have some for sale, but mostly 1/144s NG or HG...

Dunno about other places in JB... dang we need more modelling shops around.

^ wah what a nice friend... give MG for present tongue.gif

Freedom and Strike (both aile and rouge) are good MGs... Strike has a better looking stand, ie the launchpad, while the Freedom has more guns, of course. Both are of great quality, so at the end of the day, it depends on which model does your friend prefer. The price is same though... 3900 yen i think... somewhere around that.

Check back a few pages, we had some small discussion on MGs earlier on. laugh.gif

Meanwhile... thanks to duotiga from animesuki.com...

Hm... B-Craft Saviour is not as nice as initially thought. The cannons are far too large and heavy, while the shoulder plates are gigantic, kinda out of proportion.

And WOW for the Blu Duel... maybe future models could all have the rotating pelvis for more posability. thumbup.gif

Stargazer: I have a Freedom MG...what I really don't like about the kit is the tiny stand and the heavy backpack (wings). That's why I'm leaning more to Strike Gundam. But normally people would go for the better mecha in the series...which is Freedom rclxub.gif
*
I like Strike more, even though I don't like both haha tongue.gif

Yes the stand is a bit turn off, when you consider the Strike which is the same price provides the launchpad...

Or you can twist and bend a clothes hanger laugh.gif

Or try out other MGs... Besides my biased view on the MKII Titans, maybe can get a MKII AEUG? Ok I'm still biased twds the MKII.... Zeta ver2.0 is superbly nice...

Ah hell... get a giant Sazabi....

Whoa... it looks like Saviour !! Looking forward to seeing the backpack thumbup.gif

Looking at the Blu Duel... it seems like HG 1/144s are getting better and better. The rotating part of the legs is a great idea, allowing MG-like articulations. thumbup.gif Sometimes you wonder why BANDAI didn't include these in the first place... whistling.gif

But it's too bulky... I prefer the original Duel. And the Mudie's uniform is horrible doh.gif

IMHO IJ and Legend is a good buy.

1/100 Destiny doesnt have that colloid wings. i wouldnt recommend that. however 1/144 HG has that wings.

Im waiting for the 1/100 "Pimp mobile" Akatsuki  thumbup.gif
*
1/100 Destiny is a better choice than the 1/144 HG. The 1/144 is simply too small, and there are much more uncolored areas such as the shield and the light blue parts of the chest. Of course, you get more gimmicks like the stand, beam wings; but less beam blades. I still prefer 1/100s than 1/144s though the smaller kit gives more goodies... 1/144s are too small and skinny... unless they are the newer MG like HGUC of course.

But since the prices for MG are so low, why spend 80+ on a 1/100 when you can get an MG for RM 100-130?

Notice some thing ??? the New MG line Have Better Finger design ... where u can cut them into all moveable part ... from Rx78-2 OYW and Nemo Onward all are using new hand design ....
*
Yup... but I would say it's not necessary a good thing to do so. I cut my MKII's left palm so that all the fingers move seperately, but this caused the left hand to have a weaker grip. Even with the peg at the palms, the left palm grips less tighly compared to the right palm which I left it untouched (hence the 3 lower fingers move together)...

ver 2.0 MGs are superbly made. And by ver 2.0 I mean MGs from OYW RX78 onwards since they utilise newer frame designs. And now you can get them for around 100+... who would want to buy 1/100s anymore? tongue.gif

Does anyone has good pictures of a 1/100 Tall Geese 1?? I've found couple of TG3s, but personally I still think the TG1 is the best looking in GW. Old school and retro it may be, but beautiful...

^ erm... IMO no. For that price, you could get something better... a HG 1/144 is much lower in price, and brings more fun in assembling.

OMG... less than 20 bucks for a HGUC Rick Dias and Hizack? shit... please Jaya Jusco JB... please have a members day like this.

OMG...everywhere seller is throwing their gundam prices. Even in ebay. Good news for us collectors though, but the point is there are limited types around. Only those few types only nia. icon_rolleyes.gif
*
at least we are getting reasonably priced mecha over here. My friend in Australia always complains about the lack of models there, and the prices are always sky high...

Too bad the modelling scene is still very focused in the Klang Valley, other cities doesn't have much modelling shops around. JB's shops just cannot survive, maybe due to Spore's competition perhaps?

Yo everybody..

List down 5MG that u think are the best so far...and worth the $$$. Wana c everybody's opinions.  tongue.gif
*
1. MKII ver2.0
2. Strike
3. OYW RX78
4. F91
5. Freedom

and... Nemo tongue.gif

since the main factor here is "affordable", hence I suppose EXS, nu, sazabi which is much more expensive is not really suitable, unless u have cash to burn.

MG Nemo is a good buy
it has the articulation which is similiar to Mk. II ver 2.0
but the price is much more lower (2,800 yen ~ RM 93)

The cons of MG Nemo (compare to Mk. II 2.0) are
1) not a Gundam (if you prefer to buy Gundam models)
2) lack of weapons (only beam rifle, beam saber & sheild)
*
MKII doesn't have much weapons too... rifle, sabre, shield, only an additional bazooka, which is not very large anyway. Just a simple short bazooka. But I like the bazooka most, much more than the rifle. biggrin.gif

one thing though, the articulation of the MKII will be affected by the armor. You can move the parts quite a lot, but once the armor is put on, parts like the shoulder and the waist will have less range of movement due to blocking by the shoulder, chest, and hip armor. I guess this happens in most, if not all, MGs.

Ya, all MS has the "limitation of articulation"
but Mk. II 2.0 can pose more than the older Gundam
which is nice to play biggrin.gif
*
erm... it poses less than OYW RX78... the 78's armor is less bulky.

meanwhile... behold Strike Justice !!

BANDAI... faster release this ...

RM 10 bucks for an RM8 magazine? where are u buying it from??? tongue.gif

the march 05 issue of Hobby, which has a special report about previous MGs, shows a custom-made MG Impulse using the MG God Gundam's frame. Apart from the core splendor, every other part fits well (but of course minor changes here and there)
