I don't think so. HK luxury home will cost 5 - 6k psf. 1k psf is consider CHEAP to them that's what my colleagues from HK told me 3 years back when i met them in a conference in SG. Also are you talking about ringgit malaysia or HK dollar? Their fresh grad salary start off at HKD 18000 to 25000 can't really give a right comparison fyi. 300 sft 1 bedroom apartment 1.5m is consider CHEAP...  doh.gif

Adding on... no one ask you to get those rm1k psf la. They are meant to be luxury homes in the first place. Not for normal people like you or me. Find somewhere near Setapak or Jalan Ipoh can still get some affordable ones. Nearly every country would have them.
*
Luxury condo in HK cost RM15,000 psf and above depends on location, RM5k - 6k psf just a normal one, RM1k psf is damn old flat without any lift service.
the most expensive condo in KL is banyan tree, RM2k psf, the most expensive bungalow lot is Damansara Height, cost RM600 to 800 psf, in HK bungalow lot cost easily RM25k to RM35k psf and above.

Once upon a time a prop guru claims bolehland can hit rm5k psf by 2015?
Do u think that is possible or utter rubbish. A lot of people seems to think so. Including myself. Kekeke. But now not sure what to think anymore as rm800psf leasehold in kd also kena sapu clean clean.

A lot of people misunderstood Gavin's statements, he never mentioned average condo.

in 2011,
In a recent talk, property consultant Gavin Tee has predicted the following:-

Price psf of luxury condos in Malaysia might hit RM5K within the next 5 years
Real estate market in Kuala Lumpur would mature and hit its highest point by 2020
...
...

looking at the current trend, he is right.

Some of the property guru make more money from seminar talk than property investment. Why predict year 2020 and not 2022? Simply following wawasan 2020 which already not realistic.

Yeah. Read about that one before. And the buyer wishes to remain anonymous.
But averagely i thought the prices for the other 3 i mentioned was higher than banyan tree.
If i recall correctly banyan is ranging from 2 to 2.2k psf.
While st regis started from 2k but were lastly and mostly transacted at 2.5k?
Central park with carl ritzton were boasting of from 2.5k psf but do not recall it being launched.
Jean nouvel was also rumoured to start from 2.5k psf onwards.
And of course some unlaunched developments such as harrod residence is also expected to top banyan trees.
So it rrally surprises me if and when e n o do launched their mews at 1.4k psf.

Boss, think most of the principles belies in comparison of their prime cities against ours. And not rural vs rural for comparison.
Eg. For those who had the vision that aussie would do so well they would have invested heavily into it before the meteoric forex rise.
Let's say if you have faith that bolehland is gonna do well in the immediate future, no harm hoping that we can have the same voom that australia experienced before this.

Ps: wishful thinking

Btw, any idea what is our ranking in the world for oil exporter? And what is the gross capita income against the others?

Hong Kong - Average income per capita: 45,944 dollars (US$) a year, is one of the administrative regions of China, located in East Asia with a population of 7 million people.

Singapore - Average income per capita: 56,694 dollars (US$) a year, is located on an island in South East Asia, Singapore as its capital, the population is 4.9 million people.

http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=...6379&sec=nation

Malaysia - The country’s gross per capita income has increased from US$6,700 (RM21,152) in 2010 to US$9,700 (RM30,623) at the end of last year.

To those keep saying properties in the Bolehland are the cheapest in the region should make themselves aware that, an average Singaporean or Hong Kongese is making 5 times more income than an average Malaysian.

What is the logic to justify that property prices in the Bolehland should keep rising and matching SG and HK??? doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

In 2012, transacted prices have been trending down at certain areas, particularly the high-end segment. Forget about the stagnant call, the high-end segment will be the hardest hit in this property market downturn for sure. Look at those empty bungalows, semi-d's in the middle of nowhere... really scary! It is not easy to find the next millionaire sucker, isn't kiddo? rclxms.gif rclxms.gif
