Performance not so good on stock ROM, custom ROM ok.

Samsung galaxy S3 or wait for LG nexus 4.

Samsung galaxy note 2. One of the best cam for Android and superb batt life.

I heard u can pre-order now, will get before Christmas.

Wait for Sony xperia V or LG nexus 4. Both are faster than S2 and meet your requirements.
HTC beats audio I dun think got much improvement, not sure.

I've used a 2nd-hand one for about 3 months, on custom GuesteHybrid ROM. Stable, good performance, nice IPS LCD screen, nice LED button which can be used for blinking notification. Don't remember anything worth mentioning about the battery... I think not too bad. Certainly not worse than my current Nexus. ICS just hit the European sets, so there may be some ICS custom ROMs around, but keep in mind it's an old set so dev support may be reduced. Verdict: very good phone but may be boring. I saw a very good condition set in Garage Sales, do check it out.

3. specs: not lagging or at least, better processor than xperia u
4. size, display not as big as galaxy sII.
