Maybank Investment Bank Bhd will be the stabilising manager for the initial public offer (IPO) of AirAsia X Bhd on the Main Market of Bursa Securities.

It said on Tuesday the maximum period for the price stabilisation would be the earlier of 30 days from the start of trading of the shares; or when the stabilising manager has bought 118.518 million shares, representing up to about 15.0% of the total number of shares offered under the IPO.

Maybank Investment Bank said up to 118.518 million were subject of an over-allotment option, solely to cover over-allotments of the shares in the IPO.

It added the stabilising manager might buy up to 118.518 million shares to undertake the stabilising action.

Tassapon Bijleveld (CEO Thai AirAsia) said that AirAsia X will be launching a new company in Thailand soon. Now, it is in the process of registering for an aviation operating licence from the Civil Aviation Department & would get off the ground by the end of this year or the first quarter of next year.

According to news report, Those pre-ipo shareholders are selling. Their initial cost is much lower compare with ipo price

Maybe they know something we ordinary investor don't know

I'm not so sure about it. If I remembered correctly, got some private investors invested in AAX. The cost per share is below rm 1. This happen few years back when AAX is private entity.

if tomorrow drop below IPO price, stabilizing manager will kick in & support the price at 1.25.

if the selling volume is very2 high, don't think the stabilizing manager could help support the price for long.

So worst case scenario, next week sure drop below IPO price
