Debbie, I've posted AA's comments earlier on 47 (top of page). Rayma aka Lulu must have deleted it on GMS.

Role playing - dont believe that was what was discussed.

Most likely they may have plans to give birth to a new company and all these hardcore CONs have some share/interest in it on condition they pull in all existing customers and new victims oops...investors......oops purchasers.

Could be. From their demeanor, they have hope for the future. Either a new company coming up or the promise of the resolution of the current situation. I can read this in the behaviour of Shereen and Pat Lu.

interesting, now GMS page full of lawyers advises.. some say if they too rush to go file a police report (like what NTV7 Donald Lim suggested) they will be consider intervene and drag the case very long until 5-6 years only will settle, haha! it was suggested for the people to wait for BNM to file a court case towards Genneva then only they file a police report. so once again! the responsibility and next move has been all on BNM and up to BNM.

Pandai la these ppl... shall i suggest this is a new scheme, not ponzi, but it also included after-(get-caught)-service, the post-ponzi crisis management. tongue.gif
*
They are coming out with every trick in the book to stop or delay people from making police reports. All these advises from so called lawyers. You and I know why they called the meeting. They are worried people will make police reports after the NTV 7 news. They just say and do anything to stop or delay this. This is the ONE and ONLY reason for the meeting.

I am confused. How do they expect to settle amicably with BNM? Ponzi scheme is fraud, no? And fraud is criminal case, no? But I'm no lawyer, so I may be wrong.  tongue.gif
*
You that there is no possibility that a government that rely on international trade (not even our Malaysia Boleh govt) can allow a Ponzi to continue legally right ? They want to delay and stop their investors from lodging police reports becoz most likely the Attorney General likes to have more prosecution witnesses before formally charging them.

The people who puts money in Genneva are indeed between the rock and the deep blue ocean as prophetjul puts it..

How can they settled on something that has absolutely no claims? The supporters are hell-bent that's nothing wrong. If nothing wrong, then they won't get a single sen back later because BNM will not have any rights to prosecute.

This show is indeed getting more intriguing..

I think I'm running out of popcorn..  laugh.gif
*
You need a supply of popcorn to last another 5 - 7 years. Summary :-
1) Charges to be laid in another 6 months.
2)Directors plead not guilty. Court Case to be settled in 3 years.
3) If guilty, Directors will appeal. Appeal heard in another 2 - 3 years
4) If found guilty, appoint administrator for distribution of seized assets and confirming all claims are genuine - about 1 year

Total time to get back money = 7 years.

Directors get to enjoy the money now for 3.5 years. If guilty maybe go to jail for 4 years. After that enjoy again for life. But crime do pay. There is another JUDGE above and He will not bless these people. If He chooses, they will not be able to enjoy even on earth (sometimes the punishment extends to the children. Remember there is No Wealth if there is No Health.

Actually, not much gold left. I believe mostly converted to paper money overseas. If BNM cannot recover these money from overseas, their losses is going to be almost 100%.

Are u sure they retired liao? Hard core scammers like Ng P.W. & co plus servile lackeys like Pat Lulu and Aunty Lim will never retire. They always live to scam another day. Why?? Because easy money, free lunch and too damn lucrative. Futhermore there's a sucker born every minute.  drool.gif

The senior CONsultants are only pawns - i dont think they got a share in the loot. Its not easy to spend RM 100 million or two in a life time you know. Enough lah to retire.

Lawyer would advise them to hire them to fight at court, in the end, even if BNM able to release back the frozen assets to the victims, the LAWYER already taken half of it ! THINK carefully, if they report to BNM, they might get MORE.

Lawyers are inexpensive in Malaysia. I believe we have an oversupply. Some of them will even help you draft the letters in accordance to your wish.

These investors are given all sorts of excuses and rumours to stop them from lodging police reports. They just want them to do nothing.

Wish I could attend that. You should hear in the interview in the "inside story" the documentary on the US prime loans scandal. She is very straight forward and smart. Happy that she is the IMF head and happy to have Zeti to be our BNM head

I think Shereen given her password to someone like Dhayana to write for her. Her English in the last few weeks is completely different - suddenly writing style same as Dhayana and the Dhayana woman has became silent. These people have such low morals in their quest to continue to deceive the public and the investors

Everyday they will have a different conspiracy theory - why ? To distract people from lodging police reports. I won't believe what they put up on that page. It's propaganda - these guys are really good in this - the communist countries should hire them.

got to know this genneva back in early 2010 when i was interviewing a programmer that wrote some gold trading system.
immediately when he mentioned about a guaranteed 2% i know deep down its just another scam but surprisingly it lasted for so long before bnm took action.

many msian may not have heard of another ponzi that happen in nilai around 2004/2005 - this probably due to the fact most of the victims are angmoh. but the scheme was big as the victims totaled around > 50,000 (mostly from US, UK, AU, PH)

points from the case:
1. investigation took a few months before the arrest happen and charge in court.
2. during his arrest - many worshippers was pooling money for his legal fees. Few smart one even spun off another scheme to these desperate believers.
3. the mastermind and his wife was charge and jailed for money laundering and illegal deposit.
4. they were released early around 2010. Now back in UK hiding and enjoying their fruits of labor (money that was never recovered)
5. the money that managed to be frozen was not given back to victims even till now - probably due to the complexity of the scheme
6. up till now still many habouring hope of getting their money back, believe its a govt conspiracy to stop the scheme and waiting for their messiah to return.
Background of the ppl behind the scheme

here is a "letter to the editor" section in NST. with Pat Lu's touching opening sprinkled and posted on GMS page, everyone is semangat again

GOLD TRADING: Wasting golden chance to make nation a hub
I AM pleased with Syed Azauddin's well thought out and well expressed letter, "Prompt action may have made many the wiser" (NST, Oct 31).
user posted image
Syed Azauddin rightly argued that what Bank Negara did regarding Genneva Malaysia's customers, though laudable, fails to justify that the raid on the gold trading company was in the interest of customers.

After reading about what had appeared, I feel the raid was unnecessary as there is a number of ways the bank could have acted.

It was also pointed out that it had plenty of time to check with the company whether its business complied with the law and advise it.

Now, the raid has made thousands of customers worried.

The raid has not only caused hardship to thousands of people who have benefited from the company, but will be a damper if Malaysia ever wants to make the country a regional gold hub.

Is there something magical gold traders know that banks, financial institutions and the authorities may not know?

This is especially since thousands invested their savings in gold wafers and hibah to sweeten their buys.

Syed Azauddin was right to mention that banks are reaping billions of ringgit in profits every year but not a single sen goes into the pockets of customers, except shareholders.

I would think, in this case, Genneva thought it right and proper that whatever it could generate from the sale of gold should be channelled back to agents and customers as a form of return for their support of the company.

Clients have been more than satisfied with the company as it has honoured its word.

The question is, why penalise the company for its business plan that has benefited thousands?

It may well be the future direction of gold trading.

I dont understand why the newspaper entertains the publications of such propaganda. Anyway i do celebrate the freedom of press on tge other hand. Time will reveal the Truth soon. As the Bible says a bad tree cannot bear good fruit and neither a good tree bear bad fruit. At the moment these people are trying to cover the fire with some paper covering.

They are many many Ponzi scheme in Malaysia. What makes Genneva different and intrigues me is how the victims involved are so brainwashed into believing the company that they go out of their way to protect the very people who cheated them. If you take a profile of the people involved in Bestino and the profile of the people involved in Genneva, you see a sharp contrast.

The Bestino victims are generally blue collar workers with a low level of education. However, they are clever enough to understand who cheated them. The profile of the Genneva people are very highly educated people, some with education overseas, some with postgraduate degrees and yet they are swallowing the crazy conspiracy theories and unsound economic articles naively.

I can only conclude that PRIDE and GREED overwhelms the ability of these people to think.

Those who have not had the benefit of higher education are often aware of their own weaknesses and are therefore willing to admit they might be wrong and seek out advice from others.

I would say in this case, over-confidence in their own judgement is a contributing factor to why they remain so blinded. They think they are smarter than everyone else who have to make do with a mere 3% p.a. interest so they believe that our opinion is not worth listening to.

Ah well, we're not the ones in a financial quandary right now. whistling.gif
*
Yes you are absolutely right. They have the "I am too smart to be wrong or scammed" syndrome.
I understand very well now why the Bible teaches us to be humble. I met a couple of very successful CEOs and managing directors in the past and one very important characteristic about them that jumps out is how humble they were when I first spoke to them.
