So far only LG Singapore has confirmed that it is honouring the warranty. It does not mean that the warranty is international.

Nevertheless, it is comforting. Going to Singapore for repair is much better than going to Aus or US.

I just bought my N7 via Newegg Malaysia last month without any duty. The officer in Newegg also mentioned to me that no duty on tablet and phone. Sirim permit only applicable for GSM or 3G device

i think he meant

phone/ tablet got no duty,
but phone or 3G tablet got to pay for sirim.
wifi tablet dont need to pay sirim.

I summarised my personal experience importing these stuffs:

All phones and wifi tablets need to apply sirim permit ( RM 100) and you can bring in up to 3 devices of such - any combo

Phone NO duty/tax

WiFi tablets - 10% tax on buying price + courier costs : i was shown the custom tax book when i argued over this

This is my experience handling with JB customs.
If you do not want to handle these personally pay RM50 to Poslaju or Courier company as service charge
