QUOTE(bscoopy @ Nov 15 2012, 06:03 PM) Hi everyone, in your case the nexus line is the best.galaxy nexus is quite rare now/extinct(sme sets).gnex isnt a top notch dualcore device(barely beating the overclocked single core phones),it has bad battery life.I am a total newbie to Android, and am looking to buy either the new LG Nexus 4 , or the older Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone. I generally keep my phones for at least 3-4 years, so in my mind, I should get the latest LG Nexus phone, right? However, I understand that the price of the Galaxy Nexus phone is now around RM1000. We still do not know the price of the Nexus 4, but it is likely to be twice that of the Galaxy Nexus when launched. What do you senior bros think, and recommend? Thx. nexus 4 is a great device but it has its own set of draw backs like 16gb storage and glass back.(the price is a turn off for me) |

QUOTE(IwanAGP @ Nov 15 2012, 09:51 PM) How about someone who didn't bring a bag? dont get me wrong, i am not anti sammy, i just dont like gnexus battery life.Anyway, it's still tedious for some ppl. I don't mind bringing a powerbank but I just find it's not needed for me. I normally go out with one usb cable only, without the charger head Powerpack comes in handy when we're going out for vacation though. Considering to spend some money on small 5000mAh +-battery pack. Those 11200 or 13000 mAh totally overkill since it weights too much to be portable. some people should get the RAZR MAXX if thier preference is on battery life. Added on November 15, 2012, 10:00 pm QUOTE(chronous @ Nov 15 2012, 09:51 PM) Lol at your reply bro. coz they are die hard apple fans. thier "loyalty" to apple has no limits. Btw, I dun see people complaining this much when Apple start the non removable battery trend. This post has been edited by green_algae: Nov 15 2012, 10:00 PM |

i am more interested about the 6 screens behind of him. Added on November 15, 2012, 10:25 pm QUOTE(IwanAGP @ Nov 15 2012, 10:16 PM) I warn you. Once into android, if you're more enthusiast type, there's no road for you to return to iOS. I started with Android then I find iOS so boring i started with ios(ipad 2) then i moved onto android.the only advantage that ios has is the well polished games.but in terms of customization,i'll take an android phone any any time/any place/any where. Give me iPad to play I don't know what to buy besides those games. For those who like simple and straight approach, go for Apple. They limit how you use your phone. Android let you customize most thing to your preference. This post has been edited by green_algae: Nov 15 2012, 10:25 PM |

QUOTE(DJFoo000 @ Nov 16 2012, 09:07 PM) I'd seriously wait until JBQ gives the green light for full AOSP support before handing over the money for an N4. Never quite seen a Nexus device that does not launch with AOSP support with its first shipment. really hope he does. imagine a nexus phone without aosp |

QUOTE(G-17 @ Nov 16 2012, 10:59 PM) Nothing to do with LG and "developer hate". im refering to the post before.(the missing-in - action developer).if aosp isnt released for nexus 4.what would you get?AOSP = Android Open Source Project. Means that whatever code that gets committed has to be open sourced. While this isn't always the case (Tegra 3 still has some proprietary blobs), it's almost always a matter of the license. Manufacturers are very, very careful about licenses (GPL, BSD, MIT, Apache...etc) and one wrong step can lead expensive lawsuits. This post has been edited by green_algae: Nov 16 2012, 11:04 PM |

QUOTE(G-17 @ Nov 16 2012, 11:35 PM) Okay, I'll confess. I have an iPhone5 on order htc one x (krait version) is for usa only. a) I live in Singapore and want to try Singtel LTE b) I have some developer friends who make apps for iOS, and I promised them I'd help them out, so I need a test platform But I'm still keeping an eye on the Nexus and all things Android (as well as future Firefox OS and Jolla developments). I'm not a fan of any one platform and don't take sides. At the moment, iOS has a better ecosystem but Android is a better OS, imho. I still enjoy using my Nexus 7. As for my second option, I honestly don't know. Yes, I'm not a fan of Samsung but I heard their Note2 is pretty good, plus it seems to have decent dev support. Of all the non-Nexus Android phones currently out, my favourite is still the HTC One X, but I prefer the dual-core Qualcom Krait version for the battery life. But M'sia doesn't have that version (cos no LTE) so I'm not sure what to recommend. I'm still hopeful for the Nexus 4 though. Lets just wait and see. |

And their unique Note Series. These two phones will get most upgrades. im sure you're refering to me So if you want updates and upgrades...better buy flagship phones. Otherwise..get a Nexus phone This post has been edited by green_algae: Nov 18 2012, 10:04 PM |
