Nah , flashing should be okay Just make sure BootWait is on , because if anything goes wrong..you could use linksys tftp tool to restore your firmware back I am assuming that you're saying this http://dl.qj.net/DDWRT-PSP-Custom-Router-F...d/837/catid/193But v21a is an old version of WRT54G...I wonder if the new version has bulit-in support for this or not

Uptime ! Why did you power off the router , it should be there..It should at least restart by itself..If you kill it after its flashed it would be the same...Try to flash it and leave it there , it would take several seconds to get 'steady' green light This post has been edited by prasys: Jul 4 2006, 05:37 PM

I am having the exact same problem. I have read somewhere that WRT54G Wireless isnt that great....Try to change your channel to channel 1 and instead of WPA , use WEP. That should fix it. Change ACK Timing from 2000 to 0 . That should 'fix' your problem for now

You need to go to the forums -DDWRT and there is a special build for WRT54G/GS v5 with PPPoE support

OpenWRT is meant for the experts. Its pretty much DIY [much like Gentoo]. It will install the base for WiFi , networking , etc. But then you would have to configure it. You would have to get the PPPoE Dialer , you would have to do pretty much everything. DD-WRT on the other hand is a mix of OpenWRT , $vea$oft's Firmware , HyperWRT...So pretty much DD-WRT is the way to go

set it to 90 instead of 120 , you will notice sites load even faster then before
TCP/UDP Timeout ,
warning : it will increase router's load !

Aslong it supports AfterBurner technology yeah. But if you're talking about G+ , then it might not work as its 108Mbps , it uses a different method to get '108Mbps'

Its on a non-broadcom hardware [it has somekind of strip down stuff which makes it impossible to run any 3rd party firmware]....So , for now its impossible...We might never know

That means you could just 'BT' using your router. Small files , with 2GB of SD Card , you could well , download some animes and transfer back to your Desktop

Thumbs up , now I could use the SES Button to turn WiFi on and off..I like the whole idea of using the button for something. When we dont need it , we could turn it off , and when we need it , we could turn it on
Superb...DD-WRT , I love you guys...IPV6 Support , etc...!

*phew*
Man , I messed up with my Router again and bam , its stucked. I had no choice but to bring it back alive by opening the router and 'shortening' the pins and flashing it back with linksys' original firmware. I am going to flash it back to DD-WRT in a couple of hours.
Sometimes overclocking does fix a lot of problems. Like wifi dropouts. If you're going to use wifi to transfer a large data from a computer to a computer. Then I would suggest you to overclock. Bear in mind dont go beyond 240Mhz if you dont have any passive cooling, otherwise you will be stucked in an endless loop. You would then need to open the router and ground Pin 16 !
Oh yeah , its better for you to turn off the router's firewall. You might notice that you could gain 5-10% Speed Increasement !. Yeah I know its low margin gain. On the other hand , if you want to protect yourself from cheap internet viruses and stuff like that. Leave it on. For me , I am forced to turn it off because I am using IPV6 [as The SPI blocks my IPV6 Tunnel] !
