In WRT54GL WDS key in the BEFW11S4 wireless MAC address. Both set to the same wireless channel & test it out without any WEP encryptions. If i remember correctly it won't work with WEP/WPA encryptions. That is the reason i sold my old BEFW11S4 & got my self the WRT54GSv4.

unnamed, DD-WRT support pptp server & client, OpenVPN server & client running in the Linksys WRT54G/GL/GS router. I am using the pptp server in my clients office network so that i can access & trouble shoot the LAN PC from any location that has internet connection. The best is use the OpenVPN , the speed is faster compare to PPTP server.

honkit, try the 30 sec reset. Hold the reset button & power up the router wait for 30sec then release the reset. Hope this can fix your router.

Any one have WRT54GL for sale?

I'm downloading only 6 torrents but only 3 is moving and I have 3700++ active connection when the max is set to 4096.

How do I reduce the active connections to a lower number? Please advise.
*
This is my setting:
Global maximum number of connections: 300
Maximum number of connected peers per torrent: 50
Number of upload slot per torrent: 4

Downloading 6 torrent @ 80KB/s (QoS) Active connection = <400

Check your DD-WRT setting:
Maximum Port : 4096
TCP & UDP Timeout = either 120 or 90

If you switch off the linksys. Do not turn it on immediately (coz of error checking & it will revert to default settings). Switch on after 30 - 60 sec.
If you are brave enough, you can try this patch:
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=74532#74532

I have been using this patch for quite sometime, solved most of the problem (power tripped, switch on too fast..etc)

Sri Computers (Lowyat)
Buffalo WHR-G54S (same spec as WRT54GLv1.1)=RM170
Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 (same spec as WRT54GSv4)= RM220
The best part is it came with wall mount, the antenna is using RP-SMA connector!! ideal for high gain antenna upgrade & it's powered on DV 5v 2.6A only!!

chiafoo
I have tested the WHR-G54S & WHR-HP-G54 both are very good device & easy to upgrade to DD-WRT. Recommended to use DD-WRTv23SP2 Generic Standard

Signal from the Buffalo Router is far superior compare to Linksys WRT54GL
Attached Image
I am testing if from my computer room which is in the middle of the house. Buffalo signal is very strong on transmit & receive. If i using linksys, totally no signal or i have to add in a WDS unit in order to get the signal.
