GS version selling at RM390 is way too expensive. Normal price is about RM280 +/-. Unless u bought the WRTSL54GS at RM390 i can say it's a good deal.

I have the Linksys HGA7T 7dBi (high gain antenna kit for wrt). Seems like no diffrent from the original standard antenna. Tested with WDS setup & Xmit 70 ~ 251. If i up the Xmit power i get better signal quality.

I went to Lowyat today, saw WRT54GL is selling at RM240 ~ RM280 (exstock). I manage to grab the WRT300N v1 at RM560 (last unit). Now testing the WRT300N v1 with DD-WRT v24beta.

azmihamzah, The Linksys power adaptor input is 230v only. It burned caused by the higher Voltage Input by the TNB usually 250v +/- . Solution is either get the 3rd party power adapter or an AVR. I burned 2 (warranty 1 to 1 swap) of the Linksys power adapter in less than 5 mins. I bought the OEM power adapter from giant supermarket for < RM20.

WRT54G v5 & 6 support 3rd party firmware. v7 and above = no 3rd party support.
http://www.bitsum.com/openwiking/owbase/ow...RT54G5%5FCFE#h1 It is recommended to but the WRT54GL, u won't have hassle to upgrade to 3rd party firmware. QOS works for wireless & wired connections. This post has been edited by ldragon: Jan 26 2007, 09:43 PM |

DD-WRT won't work/detect if you enable the P2P protocol encryption on the P2P clients. More reading on QoS http://www.ccirrus.per.sg/rfc13109/2006/10...dd-wrt-v23-sp2/
