Nexus 7 burn out after overnight charging. No one knows really the exact facts/situation of this case yet. ASUS acted fast and provided a new replacement to the owner

I have 2 others bought from lowyat forum and lowyat shop - both cannot be used except only can detect thumb drives only

How you flash it ? Most kernels you flash from recovery mode. Check the kernel type before flashing

Is it necessary ?? I never bother even on the phones

Well I never encounter any issues flashing kernel only without wiping cache/dalvik in ALL my android phones and tablets
Only flashing rom, I will wipe such caches only.

I restore back my stock rom and flash through recovery mode the zip file

If you do not have a nandroid backup than flash the 4.1.2 google image using toolkit than only upgrade

YES provided you use same gmail id

If it works, it will replace your TWRP - this is a very good recovery. Why even bother to change it
Anyway Rom Manager nowadays is outdated and does not seem to work well on many devices
Use Nexus7 toolkit to flash CWM recovery - quick and simple

CWM backup is about same size lah. There are 2 folders in CWM backup - one the backup folder but the balance bulk is in the obb folder - go and look inside it
DON'T even try to tamper with these files as if you do guaranteed you will not be able to restore it. If you are using TWRP you can always backup to external Sdcard/or thumb drives and free your tab internal memory. I keep up to 4 backup of different roms in my thumb drives using TWRP
CWM can ONLY backup to internal memory

Will test all my apps
Just bought nexus media importer to replace stick mount - good solution

Go to settings/apps n clear data for play store
Restart tablet n try again
If still fail, clear data for google services framework too n restart tablet

Remove your Google account n try key in again
If still fail reflash your ROM
