I heard MMHE offers great amount of training. Whether it's beneficial, I'm not sure.
Esp when you drilled off course. They're still kind enough to kick you out without seeking for compensation. The rig is no playground.

I thought all these while, our sweet petroleum was exported out for sour petroleum? No doubt our crude oil quality is good, but based on the last TV interview with Hassan Merican, he claims we produce more diesel than petrol. Which is why we're getting gasoline from other nation to cope the current demand correct me if I'm wrong.

That's not the main concern, if everyone is eager to plant crops for fuel, then no many would be of interest in planting for food or sugar. Thus price for both would spike high due to high demand.

I still remember my intern days. Toll RM 15, Petrol RM 30. Daily commute from puchong to Bukit beruntung. All expenses beared by my own. basically, there is not even enough $$ to cover all the expenses. Well what to do. I was there for the experience and it was worth while.

friend, how many resumes have you submitted, there are alot of OnG companies. Some consider kucing kurap, still a good foundation for you to learn. My advise is, try to apply jobs other than OnG. Secure a job once opportunity comes. Sharpen your skill for a year or 2 then hop again. Chances is there, you just need to look further. Don't worry, OnG companies will invest in you should you have 0 experience. just don't quit.
Btw 6 months is a long period. Get a job, be it part time, at least make use of the time. They can't give you a stagnant result probably, you're under KIV.

Well service for Subgsea wellhead or Surface? Downside you might need to stay for weeks/months on the rig and sacrifice some of your joy time. However $$ and Experience is there.
@stupidbo Try submitting your resume to all the companies for internship. It's hard for us to tell.

@deville89
subang plant is dealing mostly on surface wellhead while Johor plant is more of deepsea or subsea wellheads.
@blackangel
I'm not sure. Are you trying to look for a deskjob only? don't wish to get your petty hands dirty & get paid alot? Sorry, but I can sense you're looking for an easy job since you're asking alot of those question. I believe Cameron would have their own service technician to perform the installation. Engineers I think would spend most of their time designing and occasionally visit offshore rigs for survey. For starters, they will send you off oversea for training. Can't remember which country was it.. italy or france. Job wise, if you can cope with pressure and challenge while not being too fussy about any job thrown at you, it's a good place to sharpen up your knowledge. However, you will not touch anything related to wellhead, BOP, compressor, Chokes etc. Those are under different division. you will only be specializing in designing valves. I'm not sure where their V&M office is.. could be KLCC or glenmarie during my last survey on the job.

QUOTE(blackangel @ Nov 3 2010, 09:33 PM) I dont mind getting my hands dirty in fact I enjoy it. Just two things that I am concerned with that are climbing up too high like 5 meter & above...scared of height. Risk must also be considered like one solar company ->low health or high accident rate. But this is not so much of an issue..shit happens everywhere just have to be extra careful well the title valve engineer...but i didnt see any state description about designing it...i thought it was done by the US or europe branches. Climbing is still ok IMO. You should see those swinging or clinging on to basket while the crane pull you up to the rig. You can clarify with them on the full job scope. I'm not 100% certain on the designing portion. From what I know engineers have the role of designing as they are from the engineering team. Site installation I think is done by thier technician.
