tested everything just now
everything in the ETACS is working
the only thing doesn't work properly is the power window
it doesn't have auto up and down AND the 30 second usage after engine is off

for those who have CVT experience
i realise that there is a rubberband effect
is it normal or not normal since never driven one be4
and when downhill, if i let go of my foot off the accelerator, i notice that the RPM will shoot to 2.5-3k RPM and stay there, is that what u call engine braking?

QUOTE(dares @ Dec 2 2012, 09:37 PM)
Yes. It has nothing to do with rubberband effect, though. It's just the CVT "downshifting" to a lower gear ratio.
*
so the rubberband effect is normal
yeah, i was quite surprise when downhill and i let go of my foot thn suddenly the RPM shoot up to 3k(pulling)
thn i think abt it, i probably is engine braking
cuz in saga 4AT, only the speed will increase, not the RPM

QUOTE(dares @ Dec 2 2012, 09:45 PM)
Like I said, that's not rubberband effect la sleep.gif , that's just engine braking.

CVT's rubberband effect is when you step on the throttle, the RPM goes up and the engine roars but the car is not accelerating as fast as the engine noise suggests, until the CVT arrives at the correct ratio.
*
i know is 2 different case
i know its engine braking
the rubberband effect is another thing, just want to ask if its a normal thing in CVT

Feels weird, doesn't it, the car doesn't change gears  brows.gif You will learn to appreciate soon enough especially when driving in hilly area  rclxms.gif
*
yeah, coming from 4AT...it feels weird..just need to get used to it
just now not used to it, rev-ed until 2.5k RPM...but average FC meter there still low...still around 16KM/L
why hilly road?...CVT did better in hill climb is it?

QUOTE(dares @ Dec 2 2012, 10:13 PM)
when climbing slopes, normal AT will jerk when upshifting and downshifting as it hunts for the suitable ratio for the best torque vs. speed. On the other hand CVT can smoothly move through the ratios at any speed.

Of course, it does that at any terrain, but the difference is the most apparent when climbing hills like Genting.
*
i thought when climbing hill, switch to B/S thn press only
and 1 more thing...since mirage uses gated shifter...another thing to get use
from P to D(even at night is easy) but from D to R(at night)...man, its hard

I think D should be able to climb la.

B/S is only used if you need to accelerate faster or when you need stronger engine braking.
*
i'll try when i got the chance
the hill that i climb is very very steep
using saga, i also have to put to "2"

Hello guys, just booked myself a mirage..
Mirage GS grey mica + aero package + chrome package + smart fit leather seats = Mirage SE  rclxms.gif
yea, i asked the same thing too...B for bukit, i was like really?!
the SA said it can help during bukit climbing and also during going down the bukit..
i can understand the bukit climbing part but the going down the bukit part a bit confuse becos i think the engine braking can still be activated while still in D..
*
fuyoooh...u are the only 1 so far that took all the accessories package
take pic of the leather seats when u got the car
its supposed to be "S" = sport
when the car came to malaysia, the S is changed to B

the only thing i/we can refer to is what the meter tells us
theres a "average" FC meter they thats constantly fluctuating
i achieve 16.2-18.2KM/L..thats all i can see/tell
