Question for all sifus

I have the Backup and reset section ticked for
Backup my data
Automatic restore

I have a Huawei Mediapad signed in with the same gmail account. When I did a fullwipe of the Mediapad, the apps I installed would automagically install after a few minutes. I recall uncle benny mentioning this with the Note1 as well.

I've been searching around in xda and other places, can't seem to find this for Note2. All I see is the linked apps from my earlier installs in play store, where I have to click one by one and install.

Anyone has experienced the automagical restore for Note2 ?

Thanks.

Idiot me....I realized I probably HAVEN'T installed anything for this NEW NEW BABY...so maybe that's why it's not working?

But then again, shouldn't this be a persistent backup across devices? Coz in my Mediapad, the apps that I installed on my Note1 will also show up on the Mediapad after a fullwipe.

Unless I missed some checkbox when Note2 was started up the first time.

for now, within 500 range. If extend to longer range would be great and the speed limit

Waze also has the AES and other fixed location traffic cams mapped out. It also has a default 500m warning. Well, since AES shoots you after you've passed, you can still slow down when you see the warning.

Out of curiousity, how does the s-pen work?  hmm.gif
There's no battery but there are features like the button on the pen as well as the "hovering" feature.
Where does the power come from? Are there some electronic parts inside? hmm.gif

It is based on Wacom digitizer technology. It's got some mini inductor in the pen that interacts with the field from the screen, and due to changed capacitance it performs writing. Google around for Wacom digitizer technology or N-trig you will get the answer.

EDIT: Ok, Nahsek did his own googling. Good job.

Is it fixed always in the Waze app or is it marked by the users as they pass by?
*
After you've traveled 1000 miles or something (1mile=1.6km), you get rights to edit the map. So those mega-travelers have already marked with the editor. I haven't reached that level yet coz I don't always use it, and I don't drive very far to work either. And I find the editor a bit cacat, tried loading it before.

However, for ad-hoc stuff like police trap camera, it is markable by any Waze user as they pass by, lasts only temporarily.

Can't wait to go to LYP this weekend to grab one 64GB micro SDHC, class 10. I'm not sure if 128GB works well with Note 2 or not. laugh.gif

I noticed that in previous thread someone mentioned SME units are made in China. I just checked mine, both phone and battery were made in Korea. smile.gif

Wah good wor. Mine only the phone is Korea, battery is finished in Vietnam.

Actually, I prefer a case that fully encloses my device, like this

I had it for my Note1, damn good but sold it off together.

I'm happy with the stock rom because:

1. multi-toggle in the pull down menu...I love this, ever since that dev Lidroid did it for Note1, and it was built in to S3
2. reallllyyyy smooth transitions
3. overall snappiness when opening apps
4. stock keyboard is now 5 row including numeric keys. Hated the switching back and forth (alpha/number) with the previous stock kbds. I used to use Hacker's Keyboard since it emulated a full QWERTY with Fn and 4 way cursor keys as well. Now the stock kbd is 80% bearable without the need to switch.
5. Notification LED !!!! My N8 had it, found it very useful as a long range visual indicator.
6. Hot swappable sd slot
7. More ergonomic S-Pen. The updated Wacom with 1024 levels, is well, gimmicky for me but good nonetheless.
8. Built in cloud backup integration....need to test this out a bit more
9. Built in customisable lock screen (no need Go Locker or funky launchers)
10. You can chuck NFC if you are paranoid...ie just junk the cover for one with no NFC. Well, this is not ROM related but wth...

That's the top 10 for me at least for now.

I guess I would root it with stock CF only and install TiBu plus a couple of other useful root apps. If there's a viable kernel in future with good OC to make this even speedier, I'll give it a try.

One more - multi-window looks quite cool, but need a bit more time with it to see.

Today try to pakai habis habis the phone. The stock browser is very very fast. This thread is also very very very fast.

I cod w teddie for the liquid armor. May get more barang frm him.

Aspire, for the mhl cable need to use v2 I read somewhere coz the signal output from s3 and note2 using this. Dont know if the s3 one is the same or not. But I suppose getting a dlna or wifidirect adapter for yr tv will be a truly wireless experience.

For mhl ori cable I saw cheapest was in sri computer lyp few months back rm40 but didn't get coz see no point. If I did it would be to play games on bigsscreen but then wifidirect will be a lot better for this use case.

I applied the liquid armour abt 2hrs ago. 1 layer only after reading fruitie's post smile.gif

Using finger swipe, the screen friction feels a little more. Haven't really used s pen much yet.

Battery now 77% using frm about 9.30 with a lot of browsing this forum haha.
