Nice new topic.

I am so tempted to get another S note 2 but selling off my s3 now means rugi teruk. Grr!

I wish it was just fine and I didn't buy s3 so don't need to think so much >.<

So thorn between s3 and s note 2 now sad.gif

Thanks to listening to my rant laugh.gif

Your "loss" will only be temporary felt
Trust me the Note2 superiority will overwhelm it within days

are u on 3G or 2.5G?

I notice you keep asking about battery
I can tell you battery life is just insanely good
It is the best I have ever encountered in all the androids I have used
It is at least 2-3 times better than note/s3 n 4x that of s2
It can easily last 4+ days on 3g actively on 24/7 with active background notification, gmail, mail, tweeter updates
Most users say 1-2 hours browsing, 1-2 hours video plus call sms n email tweets etc 14-18 hours. Light users 2 days
Gsmarena did a comparison tests n I fully agree with those numbers

thats only my concern is the battery life. If a full charge can last a day especially on heavy usage thats will be my next phone. You know la sometimes gsmarena review dunno reliable or not so want feedback from lowyat users itself.
*
Just read back all posts I have yet to hear one user complain seriously about battery life
I have said before don't think you will see people asking how to improve battery life unlike others

thn better get SME set...
brick means totally can't turn on the phone...they dont even know ur phone is rooted or not...but for AP mayb not so easy to claim...
*
Most software related issues ( due to root, flashing, kernels ) can be easily solved if you are a seasoned user of Samsung phones. So avoid AP sets if you are a complete noob if come to such stuffs. You run into problems and unable to solve yourself and sent in for claim, warranty is definitely void. SME sets 9.9/10 they will process for you FOC

QUOTE(XeactorZ @ Oct 14 2012, 10:16 PM)
but off course if can save battery why don't change back to 2g instead use 3g @@
and everyone off course want their phone can stay as long as possible
*
All my phones i always let it stay at 3G NEVER ever use 2G
I never worry about battery life as i always has 2 spare batteries cum a portable battery charger ( when i go outstation)
I find we should maximise use of phone potential and not allow battery life to affect usage

My last words on battery life
DONT WORRY . It sips only not burn
Leave your 3g on 24/7
It is a bmw on perodua fuel consumption
Use it to believe it
Do not even compare it to any other andtoid phones
It is an insult to Note2 comparing
I dont even use default power saving feature

QUOTE(gouken @ Oct 14 2012, 11:20 PM)
For me, anecdotally, the battery with moderate to heavy use definitely lasts a day with 20-30% left late night, in fact I wish it ngam ngam finish at the end of the day so I can charge nicely from 0-100% at night. But overall, having this phone, battery is not an issue at all and with the optimization in jelly bean, just turn on 3g, the OS will smart enough to switch optimally when 3g or wifi is needed. Toggling between 2g and 3g, though can prolong the usage may not be pratical because of the hassle of toggling. My advice would be to embrace 3g and forget about the hassle of toggling to truly enjoy this device the way it was intended to be.my 2 cents.
*
No need toggle such stuffs
Use your time fruitfully on other stuffs

QUOTE(kembar4 @ Oct 14 2012, 11:30 PM)
So , how do we register the e-warranty since the set will be obtained from Digi? Is it safe to assume that digi will register the e-warranty for us, on the day we get the phone, so all we have to do is visit the service center and they should know that its a digi set?
*
Many bad experience from telco registering
PM forumer fallenout to register for you. He does it free - he need your mobile no n phone imei only
If the seller is responsible he should register it immediately n you get response from samsung within minutes. Problem esp with telcos they do not n accumulate n pass to another guy to do such
Service center recognize local sets through imei n serial no of phone

QUOTE(KuLi @ Oct 14 2012, 11:43 PM)
Battery life is indeed very good. Without wasting time thinking abt toggling this and that, this is the 3rd time charging battery.

But it's nothing to be shouted abt for such a huge phone with large battery capacity.
Just like a TATA lorry with a big tank of diesel.
*
This note2 battery is only 24% higher capacity than note but its battery life is at least twice n up to even 3 times that of note
The exynos chip together w jellybean had make it more efficient
Your last sentence is therefore quite incorrect

Anybody know any trustable galaxy note 2 grey ap seller selling below rm2000? The direct d and paul187 on lelong trustable?
*
Yes definitely. Have been buying from Paul past 5 years n directd past 3 years
Perfectly safe buy through courier
Buy AP from trusted sources. Do not think of saving rm100-200 from many of those new 3rd party resellers with no service support. Do not be penny wise but pound foolish

*
I deal with him only once through courier
No issues paid today next day received phone SIS HTC set in sealed condition. Immediately register in siswebsite proven genuine set
AP sets service support no idea but I only buy original sets from such 3rd party resellers as I can go directly to authorized service center

QUOTE(gouken @ Oct 15 2012, 08:27 AM)
Bought 6 devices from them, no problem whatsoever, price always competitive and they always bring in lots of stock and always the first folks to import latest releases.

On AP or SME set for those who ask, my advice is just go with SME, full stop. The very fact you ask this question, high chances you ll have more peace with ori set, so wait a bit lor. For me its easy, the very first day the term AP used  for mobile phone sales in Malaysia, I have been buying AP. The main reasons for me personally are:

1. For good stuff, I wont wait to buy. The moment it is buyable and price is not ridiculously marked up, I ll buy it. The chances of getting a lemon from a trustable AP seller and SME is exactly the same.

2.  I'm a cheapskate. If I can get a cheaper by rm200-500 for the same quality phone, I ll get the cheap one and the extra money I ll treat myself with a nice latte and maybe a nice case. But if the difference is less than rm100, I ll go with ori if I can get it same time as AP.

3. Warranty is something I m not worry about for item below rm10k. Worst case scenario I ll have no problem getting a completely new set and sell off the broken one in garage sales for stupid low price. The only thing I m not ok with is wait long long for whether AP or ori fixing my phone. From over decade of buying phones, I had more incidents of ori set warranty claim giving me headache and BS than AP set. Obviously this point only reflect on my own personal experiences and preferences, its completely understandable and valid for others having a assurance of warranty is important.

Ok that's my take on the AP/SME question smile.gif
*
+1
I fully agree with you and is similar to my opinion too about AP sets
Even for SME sets, once i root/flash i am already mentally prepared that warranty is void and i have to bear all repairs, replacement costs. But so far I have been fortunate , 6 times past 3+ years already i got warranty FOC despite phone is rooted and flash. My latest warranty claim was motherboard replacement for Nexus 7 ( from, ASUS) when tablet just refused to be shutdown and only keep booting to clockworkmod recovery mode. The replacement of motherboard was FOC - tablet was bootloader unlock, rooted and flash with custom roms
Those who worry about warranty, just buy SME for peace of mind

Is not worth it if quality similar to previous Note n S3
The edges fray badly within months of using it
