QUOTE(AlOnE89 @ Oct 23 2012, 12:04 PM) Lol now only aware of so many typos from my previous post,i hate typing on phone -.- I guess they forget something important, why should people switch from their current OS which they're already comfortable, and MORE IMPORTANTLY, they already invested their $$$ on the apps. Switching platform means loosing almost everything.I think even IF WP8 turned out being successful, they will still unable to catch back throne of phone industry since samsung also taking wp8 alongside with Android, how to compete lol What's a good reason to switch? Is WP good enough? For simplicity, smoothness, no fancy homescreen, customization, there's iOS. For cuztomization, flexibility, power, choices, etc. there's Android. Where will WP8 stand? Current WP7.5 stand more like alongside with iOS, it's no competition for Android. At least Symbian offers customization, flexibility, but the OS features itself lacking far behind. Even if WP8 really become successful, there's another BIG Question: Why Nokia? With it's current state, people are loosing their hope, trust, confidence. You go to any malls, you used to see Nokia here, Nokia there, now it's Samseng here and Samseng there. Samseng triumphs PaiKia (aka Nokia) Why Samseng is so successful, all thanks to PaiKia, most of their users are from PaiKia, converted to Samseng. Choosing WP is their biggest mistake. Can they climb back up now that they're at the very bottom? As a user/customer, of course I do, it's good to see more competition and also Nokia coming back up. But it seems they're getting worst everyday at fast pace. You go to the mall, you see Samseng store is crowded and full, and Nokia Store, seems always can even hear mosquito sound... ok, that exaggeration, but you can see the big difference, and many people who visit Nokia Store are those still loyal to Nokia brand that aren't really looking for a smartphone or doesn't really know much about smartphone thing. Some may buy the Lumia, but how many of them will "stay"? The worst thing that could happen is for them to find out the problem and weakness of Lumia (or WP) and then give up. Now they have a bad impression on Lumia (or WP), and this is not a good thing. Just as how people are disappointed and given up Symbian, will they want to "re-try" or give 2nd chance to Symbian again next time? Take the risk? Why should they? QUOTE(AlOnE89 @ Oct 23 2012, 01:20 PM) Android is quite refined now to be honest, and there comes "lime pie?" (the newest version of android to be announced on 29th oct).. they will get much more better :/ During S2 era, it was OK already.my bro and sis got their s3 and I'm kinda jealous, the games with superb graphics and apps that facilitate daily tasks (symbian and even WP platform still lacking far behind imo) kills me badly >.> I think we might finally be able to take android as great symbian replacement in current state; some might argue that symbian runs smoothly on single core and having good battery life, etc,. but imo... does it even matter anymore especially note2 has now proven superb multitasking and great battery life can be done on this power hogger OS? as a Nokia fan, i can either pray for Nokia to adopt android after contract with microsoft ended or I shouldn't really trapped myself with brand of "nokia" anymore (hard earn money need to spend more wisely eh) In you say Symbian replacement, it's already a great replacement for Symbian since quite long ago. You can honestly consider Samseng S3 or Note2 (if you don't mind the size). Been using SEX Pro for some time, honestly speaking, Sony's version Android a failure and their older devices lacks of RAM and internal storage, was a horrible experience. For Android, make sure you get a decent spec hardware with enough internal storage for apps, micro-SD support and RAM. Besides in term of OS, Samseng did much better than Sony, in default stock mode, there's many shortcuts in the drop down menu, there's S-Voice, there's many nice and useful feature I wished it was available on the Sony. Image quality, it may not be as good as 808 PureView, but in terms of usability, it's actually much better, it's faster and more responsive, image quality is decent and very good for mobile phone category. QUOTE(realjazzcoke @ Oct 23 2012, 02:32 PM) Android is now what "symbian" should have really involve into... surpassing the "freedom" what symbian can offer way back then. And it is from every espect, from hardware specs, market's unlimited software & games (quality), wide multimedia coverage (camera & video shot, video & audio playback) , OS software updates, insane rate of accessories availability. They really got everything covered to make most users cash out their money on their gadgets. Actually Nokia have such OS... it's called Maemo, which then become MeeGo after they partner with Intel. If you have used Maemo, it could easily surpass Android. Don't talk about MeeGo, although it's nice, it's like a more slimmed down or simplified version of Maemo with many features missing. While some may say, it's not necessary, etc. the key point is let user decide and choose, let them customize what they want. But giving a simplified version with features missing means, the thing is no longer available, you can't have it anymore. BUT, if having the feature, one can turn it off in options and customize to their preference. I'm still having the N900, sometimes when I use it, I still feel it's better than the S3 especially the web browsing experience, nothing can beat that to date. To think that it's only a A8-600Mhz with 256MB physical memory device, yet it's performing exceptionally well and smooth. |

QUOTE(realjazzcoke @ Oct 23 2012, 03:15 PM) Yup. I do know Maemo, only advantages on OS doesn't really fill in the gap in modern era, or to say, it is not completing the whole mobile experience. You can only look for developer's limited software eco, and its even makes the market harder to get their accessories to complement the experience when the phone is not going to sell well. What kind of mobile experience? Back then optimization is treated with real respect (Andy214: N900 was one of the good example, well performed phone in limited choice of hardware & technology on its era I agree that letting the user to decide on features/options/customization was the right way to go, after all, we are the ones that going to use the phones after all Andy214: Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro in short was real eyecatching there If Software Eco, Nokia should work hard and push, bring softwares over, etc. The one main reason Maemo didn't do well is because the lack of apps/games in market (or Nokia Store), although there's tons of apps actually available. Plus, it was the first tablet smartphone (previous Maemo has no phone functionality), and it doesn't have capacitive touch screen. If Nokia had work on it and bring in more developers, apps/games, come up with more competitive hardware, I'm sure it will be a success. Using the N900 back, it was the only smartphone with full flash, it's the only smartphone you can surf Facebook in Desktop mode like a real Desktop, you can activate mouse cursor on web browser and do mouse-required operations, multi-tasking is a breeze and so easy and convenient. In short, using the N900 back then it's like having a mini laptop/netbook in hand. With smartphones today, even the great Galaxy Note, it can't give this similar experience because it's still lacking in terms of multi-tasking, web browsing experience, etc. Haha, the SEX Pro was used in SEX Pro thread and also among my colleagues/friends, we prefer to use "alternate" names, haha. e.g. I've just converted/join Samseng "kia", hey, we got new Samseng "poh", etc. |

QUOTE(realjazzcoke @ Oct 23 2012, 04:26 PM) Seems you have answered most of the mobile experience that was missing from N900:) From casual to serious user, they wont able to taste the true power of the phone (ex: the phone might able to do OTG for serious gamers to play on real gamepad for gaming, in accessories category, and to enhance the gaming experience) These are the few phones that are DOA from the start as test lab rats,ex: N900 & N9, without proper software market segment and user centric in the first place (Due to both are new platforms, they have to rework the codings & optimization, really time consuming). Yea, too bad Nokia didn't emphasize and put in enough effort to bring in the developers for Maemo/MeeGo platform, it's even worst than Symbian. The potential is there.... just too bad...Android know about the weakness that you mention, but they are coming real strong on that, from officials and the xda's. I understand the comparison, as on some aspect, ex: android wont able to record full hd video even on single core with GPU, where 808 already excels there (4x lossless zoom somemore^^), but i'm not sure a 41mp photo can be handle in dual/quad core android beast, someone can give a hand here?) Hopefully 808 can stay with me for awhile longer New slags acquired As for 808 PureView, there are dedicated image processor for it right? Just too bad for Nokia they didn't choose to adopt Android, else they can go multi-platform, continue offering Symbians for those who are still on Symbian, and they can also work on Maemo/MeeGo. They key point here is to make their Nokia Store app purchase available ACROSS platforms as long as they stay within Nokia devices (e.g. Samsung store for Android). So, their Symbian users can one day switch to their Android platform while maintaining their purchases (based on the apps available), thus this way, they can also maintain their existing users better. A Nokia user can have a Nokia Android Tablet, a Nokia MeeGo smartphone, but the apps are available through Nokia Store. Of course, this is something Nokia have to work on and the apps to be available, but will be an advantage for Nokia. If they have chosen multi-platform and adopted Android, high chances are they'll still be No. 1 spot and probably doing well. Anyway, albeit 808 is doing better than previous Symbian series and the camera performance is much faster, but comparing to S3 or even N9, it's not as fast in terms of capture, probably due to the pixel oversampling processing. With N9, I can keep tapping capture and it will capture and save, with slight delay, while on the S3, you can just keep tapping and there's no delay like it's not doing any processing or saving any image, and that's on Power Saving mode on S3. For quick capture and ease of use, S3 is definitely much more responsive and nice to use. Image quality wise 808 is better but then most people won't pixel peep to see the overall details. |

QUOTE(sklchan @ Oct 23 2012, 05:19 PM) Seems Avaxx already hands on Lumia 820 and 920.I think Nokia Malaysia might do big even for this 2 phone. After all, the've been quiet for some time and this is like their important point. Still not sure how is WP8, if still tons of restriction and limitations, I have no idea how it want to compete. For such OS, there is already one that's more famous, iOS. People who want flexibility, customization, power, etc. most likely won't even want to look at it. They need to bring the real Windows back onto smartphone. |

QUOTE(sklchan @ Oct 23 2012, 05:38 PM) what so difficult to compete??? lower the cost of ownership will do!! If WP8 is restricted and limited like WP7.5, then even they sell RM1K for L920, not sure how many people will buy. Maybe those WP fans/lovers will buy it over other brands, or those don't mind those restrictions and limitations (or willing to give up their current more flexible, more customizable OS phone).if it's selling >RM1,800 for the L920 and >RM1,300 for L820 see any monkey will get it or not... I will rather settle down with GN2 or S3 with plan better... Sad to say, I didn't even use the L900 last time. No different than L800, even L800 also use for a short while only for review purpose. Passed around to those people to try, there more negative comments than good comments, other than smooth and fast, what really is there? If people only care about smoothness and fast, there is iOS and it has tons of apps/games and can be JB easily. The problem is not Nokia but Microsoft's WP. Not sure how is WP8, just can hope it's good and not like WP7.5, but there's a lot need to change from WP7.5. They gotta bring the real Windows back into their smartphone, not another Zune Media Player. |

QUOTE(AlOnE89 @ Oct 23 2012, 06:05 PM) Indeed, S2 was already enough to be called as symbian replacement, but it's still not as impressive as today's device (sgs3 or sgnote2). My sister had one sgs2 previously, and the battery performance is nightmare (and that's one factor i used to laugh at my sis and boast the efficiency of symbian to her LOL) Yup, S2 has it's ups an down, I guess that was sort of like the beginning point, or turning point where it started to popular and S3 being very successful, in fact, it's very good. Many iPhone users actually switch to S3, I know some iPhone users which is very particular and supported Apple products all the while, they're impressed by the smoothness and speed, at the same time discovering what they have been missing out when they're been stuck inside Apple's small little world without those flexibilities, customizations, etc.QUOTE(AlOnE89 @ Oct 23 2012, 06:05 PM) Samsung is taking android as if it's their own brewed OS, that's why they're so successful.. non-techy consumers wouldn't even know it's running the same core android as other phone manufacturers because it's too much of different, i had to salute them for putting so much of effort into that (but still boo for plasticky phone's built lolololol) I think S3 felt much better build and solid than S2. I recall when I first carry S2, it felt really fragile, but S3 felt much more solid on hands. And it's really light. QUOTE(AlOnE89 @ Oct 23 2012, 06:05 PM) Between Note2 and S3? I like the S-Pen, but I don't want such big phone, I think max for me will be 5". Even the S3 felt big, but still OK. Just too bad the S3 can't utilize the S-Pen. QUOTE(KennyKB @ Oct 24 2012, 12:43 PM) Actually WP7.5 is more restricted than ios but without the apps. There are also lot's of unnecessary restrictions. For example those who register their age as less than 18 in the setup are not allowed to download any apps, even free ones. Why I do not know. To my knowledge there are no content in the app store that <18 y.o. can't handle. True, not to mention the Market have region control. I don't get the reasoning behind this. For some apps, maybe, but seems some common/basic apps also have region control, which is just plain stupid and they will some "smart" need people to maintain this. I guess they didn't have a default availability is available to all region? Those using prepaid have a problem with WP7.5 as it cannot handle USSD codes. Nokia support recommends that they swap their SIM to a dumb phone, perform USSD transactions and swap back to their not-so-smart Lumia. The wi-fi disconnects when the phone sleeps so any background updates, notifications or instant messages will use 3G or stop working. Too bad if you don't have 3G and need push email There are many, many other usability issues with WP7.5 which show that this OS is still very rough and jagged. WP8 may improve on it but it will still be playing catch up with Symbian, ios and Android. Although Microsoft promise that WP8 will be able to run WP7 apps this remains to be seen as there are major changes in OS kernel, programming language, processor architecture and resolution. Frankly I have my doubts as even minor upgrades of an OS can break some apps. As for the Lumia 920 it will be priced higher than Galaxy S3 and just under an iphone 5. The 820 will be priced about the same as a Galaxy S3. Good luck to Nokia! |

The Market also fail, full of rubbish apps and it appear on top somemore. Very badly organize and very messy. Not sure now, but previous during Lumia 800, it's really badly organized. For Symbian, seems many apps and games missing for 808 PureView and still not yet available to date. It was available on N8 previously. |

Got drop by, but never post only Since no topic, they're discussing on Android games on N9. Since already have Android, so didn't bother lo, zachary seems also got Note2, but he's still energetic to try on N9 QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Oct 28 2012, 07:03 PM) Hehe, already jump to Android (SEX Pro, Sony Ericsion Xperia Pro) since early of the year... wanted qwerty, but big mistake... too little internal storage for apps, not enough RAM, EPIC fail... Cannot tahan already SEX Pro, no longer sexy and no longer Pro, switch and become a Samseng, a lot better... Samseng more considerate with so many shortcut available through pull down menu, S-Voice, and some other nice-to-have features. But still find 1GB RAM is not enough... Android is too "smart" decide to load your apps for faster access even though you won't or will not access it wasting your memory and decides to kill your apps while you multi-task, or suddenly your Skype gets closed. Your also got a Note 2 right? hehe How's 2GB Ram on Android? Did those apps get closed automatically even with 2GB ram? |

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Oct 29 2012, 06:23 PM) haha nope never seen it reach 2GB. Usually about 1.4GB ram used FREE 600MB That's cool... makes me drool for S3 2GB version now... Current 1GB really not enough, can't really multi-task properly, when you go back to browser, it refreshed and restarted. Well, for one, I prefer browsing Desktop version, but then Maemo was able to handle it well, even with multiple browser window open browsing full desktop sites, and that's only with 256MB physical ram.Never really like to use android until note 2 S-voice never use i was using the google one quite accurate for asian compare to iOS S-pen - Love the handwriting and many commands for shortcuts Screen - 5.5 inch just nice for me not too big not too small lazy to bring my ipad 3 out Battery - 3100mah this the first phone i use intensively that able to last me 10 hours on 3G network. moderate can last 1 day , seldom use 2 days on a single charge Wolfson audio chip - When i plug my note 2 to my monster headset WH930 the sound is amazing. Quad core processor and 2GB ram - experience minimum lag but still cant beat WP and IOS smoothness but its real time multitasking Light Notification - Can change to all kinds of colour from white, blue, red, orange, yellow, green and etc Camera - errr you know its the usual answer BADDDDDDDDDD Choice to open - When you open specifiy link or apps or files it gives u various choice to choose like instagram link i can open with instagram website or instagram app. Connectivity - The wifi/3G coverage is superb places my other device low signal this device still got average coverage Dual MIC - last time i talk softly on my lumia ppl cannot hear me but on note 2 surprisingly people can hear Multi view - able to multi task with two windows For smoothness, it's not a must to be super smooth. For those who use computer, should know that it depends on how you use lo, if you don't install anything and remain stock, little apps, no background service, etc. even sure smooth like butter. If you want to multi-task, the should know that it will affect the performance. I'm more concern about the ability to multi-task and how well it provide true multi-tasking experience. To date, nothing can beat Maemo and MeeGo yet. Maemo is so convenient, just tap the small button you go to Multi-Task window and you can easily switch between other window. Oh, did you enjoy the video gallery? Camera part, the quality is OK, can't really compare with 808; but for most people, the S3 or Note2 Camera is very good already, it's very easy and fast, especially the burst, it let's me capture the moment better (plus, in lowlight, with burst, you can get sharp photos without blur due to shake), and also the HDR mode works well. For image quality and high MP, still sticking back to 808, but I end up use both to capture, LoL, end up spend more time to capture one thing Yup, the Wi-Fi is better than all other smartphones I used before so far, able to connect when others cannot detect. But Android still not able to connect to ad-hoc connection.... Btw, did you get the S3??? Saw you post something in S3 thread. QUOTE(KennyKB @ Oct 29 2012, 08:11 PM) Does it sound as good as a N9 or better? Music is a big deal with me and the S3 (which I have an eye on) also has a Wolfson chip. I thought you gotten the S3, saw you post something there. If you don't mind AP set, suggest you to go for the i9305 (when the price become more reasonable). 1GB Ram isn't really enough if you want to really multi-task. The audio part, GSMArena gives excellent review. This post has been edited by Andy214: Oct 30 2012, 10:32 AM |

QUOTE(KennyKB @ Oct 30 2012, 10:55 AM) No, I haven't got the S3 yet. Thinking about it but probably won't make a move until next year. I still prefer N9 multitasking and being able to close apps with a swipe or let apps remain open. Closing apps is a pain in Android. Sometimes the back button closes it, sometimes it doesn't. N9 also never give me this restart nonsense when I go back to a background app. If you're getting Android or S3, try to go for the 2GB ram version. I saw review they comparing S3 US (2GB) and One X, the reviewer practically have the apps open for like 1 week and it seems the app doesn't restart or being killed. But S3 has a bigger screen and more APPS. For MeeGo I think the store will be more or less stagnant from now on. Unwilling to move but also forced to move unless want to be stuck with in a dead end OS. In Android, switching to multi-tasking is not so convenient, you need to press and hold the menu button (well, particularly for Samseng as other brand have different button layout already). Still, it cannot beat Maemo/MeeGo. Android got many useful APPS which is widely use nowadays and there're many choices of browsers with Full Flash support. Now it only lacks some ability like activating mouse cursor for some special operation. Was able to do that with Maemo and somehow Maemo browser render web page better, more PC like and feel. Symbian is falling way far behind in this, but for simple mobile web browsing there's not much to complain about. This post has been edited by Andy214: Oct 30 2012, 11:52 AM |

QUOTE(KennyKB @ Oct 30 2012, 12:28 PM) 2GB RAM version of S3? Got here meh? Only AP set, i9305 LTE version. But just available I think last week and the price is very expensive at the moment.Android is improving all the time. Android 2.1.2 has multisplit screen to run different apps in each screen. Android 4.2 has just been announced. But MeeGo's multitasking still cannot be beaten. One problem with Android is the lateness of getting OS updates from manufacturer. It can take 9 months for a major version change and 6 months for a version upgrade like 4.0 to 4.1.1. Symbian like MeeGo is already dead end and won't be improved anymore. Resolution is stuck at 640x480. App store is stagnant as developers have run away. Like Bada it is a sunset OS. Ios too many restrictions. Don't even get me started on WP7. Tizen, BB10 and Jolla too risky. I'm not going to buy into another new OS and wait hopefully for apps. Bitten once by Bada and again by MeeGo. Twice is enough! If you want fast update, I think can go for the Nexus 4. But it lacks micro-SD support. If that's not a problem for you, then it's the best choice now? It comes with 2GB Ram. iOS and WP7 doesn't belong to smartphone category for me, so I won't even want to consider or look at them. How can a mobile computer phone missing mobile computer function in the first place, how does it quality as a mobile computer. Just like a sports performance car, if it's big like MPV, no power, how can you STILL call it a performance sports car. Jolla... would have to wait and see. As of current, only Android "still" able to offer a proper smartphone experience and with all the apps and games. Windows Mobile has flopped/downgraded into "mediaphone" category, no idea about Windows Phone 8. Symbian not going anywhere since quite long ago. I can't imagine if desktop computers also become restricted and lock down one day like Windows Phone. It's just plain dumb. |

It can never catch up or compete with Android is it never offer proper smartphone features, as in a proper mobile computer. If it remain restriction, locked on, rely on Zune, limited access to files/format, etc. It'll just remain as another media player category OS. It can never fullfill the needs of people who're used to and looking for a mobile computer phone.WP8 was launched yesterday. Gsmarena has a review on it. I don't see any cutting edge features there. Some of them should have been in WP7.5 like re-sizable tiles and data monitor. Still no bluetooth file transfer. It is still far behind Android and trying to catch up with ios. One weird feature is Kid's Corner to let kids play with your phone safely. I say, do many users want their mobile phones to double up as toys for their kids? Microsoft is funny. I just can't imagine if our Desktop PC will become like this one day. QUOTE(peter32 @ Oct 30 2012, 02:19 PM) Kids corner is a God sent feature. I have exactly the same problem with handphone being used by my kid and they keep calling up people by mistake. And the next thing the apps icons are all over the place. They need a safe corner to play their own thing. Actually this kind of feature can be easily implemented especially on FLEXIBLE and OPEN OS. It's just that they come up with this idea first; just like Driving Mode, they can provide more modes like Kids Mode, etc. This WP8 is not bad I gotta admit. Now it depends on the available apps to make it work. The key point here is, with flexible and open OS, it can be designed to let the user customize their very OWN mode, just like Symbian profiles or Accounts in Windows, so we can restrict what specific account can do (e.g. ability to purchase apps in App Store). App icons all over the place is not much of a big deal... my daugther actually go and uninstall my apps on iPod Touch, gone are not just the apps but also the game saves. Another problem is, they like to press physical button, so they will press the HOME button, or Windows Button, thus jumps out of the game. Added on October 30, 2012, 5:20 pm QUOTE(AlOnE89 @ Oct 30 2012, 03:49 PM) It has bluetooth file transfer, pay a visit on blogjack (HK based nokia fan blog), they posted two articles pertaining bluetooth file transfer GSMArena also did mentioned File Transfer is finally available.they basically demonstrated files transfer between android and WP, including contact, website and picture i guess But not really clear if there is restriction on specific file format allow for transfer since there is no File Explorer? There seems to have mass-storage mode, but does it allow user to store any file types they want? And as I've mentioned before: http://www.gsmarena.com/windows_phone_8-review-839p9.php Au contraire - Windows Phone 8 is only now able to start matching up against iOS, and it's still got a lot of ground to cover to reach Android levels of functionality and customization options. So it seems that the Nokia Lumias, the Samsung Ativs and the HTC WPs will first try and steal market share from iOS, before looking at the Google-powered army (though some might be tempted to give up some functionality for the cool looks). So, the Lumia 820 and 920, will be good for those who doesn't bother much about flexibility, functionalities and cutomizations of Android. Personally, WP is better than iOS, in terms of OS comparison as it offer deep and nice SNS integration, and now having support bluetooth file transfer, sd-card and mass-storage mode. If only they offer a true Windows on mobile phone, let user decide to keep it simple or utilize the OS to the fullest, not lock the user down. If done right, Nokia may have better chance and N8 or 808 PureView users can truly look forward for a Lumia PureView. This post has been edited by Andy214: Oct 30 2012, 05:20 PM |

QUOTE(AlOnE89 @ Oct 30 2012, 09:51 PM) Hmmm this is weird, some review sites say photos (picture) are not able to transfer via bluetooth.. Not all Symbian users can accept WP restrictions and limitations, if you have been using something more flexible and open, going into a more restricted and limited OS feels plain dumb and stupid, going backwards. Even many Windows Mobile users are disappointed and sticking back to Android. but wouldn't it redundant to make such restriction since they allowed users to transfer music (via xbox or bla bla bla? effing microsoft making things so confuse)._.? WP seem like a good iOS replacement, but just for those non-apps-zombies i guess, most ios users doesn't care about flexibility or being closed source, what they care are "able to show off their newest latest apps" to the others, so WP couldn't even fill up their teeth's gap lol I guess for now, WP's target market are those pre-blackberry users/corporates (that can't wait for BB10), diehard nokians (how many of them left we wouldn't know lol), and stalkers (ftw!) lololololol Apps redefined smartphone industry, so WP is nothing without them regardless it's well refurbished "iOS" WP8 now supporting micro-SD, bluetooth file transfer, mass-storage, seems moving forward but still BEHIND their own predecessor, Windows Mobile, in terms of OS functionality/feature and flexibility. I'm not sure what sort of restrictions are there for these newly added feature, I read in GSMArena, you can transfer "unsupported" file format into the micro-SD when connected as mass-storage mode, but you will not be able to attach those file in emails or even see those files from the OS because it's "unsupported". If we're talking about a computer, how stupid is that? Imagine your Windows PC can only see media files. But then, not everyone bothers about this, or they can imagine this... some people they need to experience it then only they will realize and complain about it (e.g. when one day there's a urgent request, they need to send specific files when they're outside, but their "smartphone" can't even do such simple task)... Just like bluetooth file transfer, some people said, I don't need it. But having it wont' harm, not having it, it's another story; imagine after taken an amazing photos of a pretty girl (or hot guys for girl), the person ask for the photo to be send to his/her phone and you "smartphone" can't do it. At least this issue, supposedly been solved in WP8, else imagine having to boast about the Lumia PureView technology, but then you can't send the photo via bluetooth... Epic!!! The best joke I see about WP8 is the video where the presenter said WP8 is personalized and unique unlike Android and hard to differentiate or recognize because they're all the same??? WP8 is all tiles, nothing much to personalized, no customization, no wallpaper... Android, you have homescreen with "live" widgets, wallpaper, customizations. It's more unique and personalized, it can also simulate WP8 live tiles via widgets (except not scrollable and not able to fill the entire homescreen). Even Symbian is more personalized and much much more customizable than WP8. The best homescreen is still Maemo's Panorama Desktop. It's the most flexible and customizable homescreen with FREE placement of icons, widgets, you can even overlap them, set transparancy, etc. There's even very powerful custom widgets you can customize yourself. In short, it's very much like your Windows Desktop. Too bad Nokia already abandon this. QUOTE(ulwan25 @ Oct 31 2012, 01:48 AM) Brothers and sisters, my 808 got washed in the washing machine. now the phone cannot on. but now I am study in Jordan, still under warranty but didn't bring any receipt. QUOTE(AlOnE89 @ Oct 31 2012, 11:42 PM) True, many people will try to argue that some features are not mandatory/ this and that, but they couldn't deny the fact that something useless for them might be useful for others, they're like "ok i'm ur dad, when i say useless, then just no and shut your pomegranate up cuz it's useless". We need some features that are practical and useful when needed, not that we gonna lost piece of meat for using it. But on the other hand, feature like so called wireless charging from Nokia is kind of useless to me or dare I say to majority of buyers, cuz who the heck will plug in the wireless charging stand and on it for 24/7? manyak energy waste weii :s True true, very sad. I still use my N900 once in a while, good for TV Out and the browser and browsing experience is still better than the Android phones, somehow it renders more like a PC. It's just lacking the processing power and ram. I wouldn't mind if they take this feature away and keep the phone slightly slimmer or lighter, until they enable true wireless charging that you need not to "bound" your phone on top of the charging pad to charge; at this point, charging via usb cable still more practical to me cuz we can pick it up while cable is attached, but it's stupid if we need now to carry along the charging pad just to play with the phone while it charge ._. Sigh, even though we discussed this many times already, I still couldn't help but feel depress on this. "What if" Nokia went Maemo full heartedly? they must still being top dog in smatphone industry.. Maemo is piece of combination from art, sceience, future (and whatever you can name it), it's just too.. legendary. Stupid Nokia is stupid, highe management should responsible for this.. bunch of worthless braindead zombies :/ Added on November 2, 2012, 11:17 am QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Nov 2 2012, 07:57 AM) Haha, this is like a general rule or practice.
