Not all those iPhone iPad all is 1 - 1 exchange.
Either new or refurbished unit. And apple don't repair for us.

What i assume is iPhone 5 , which is scratched when out of box , singapore telco doesnt accept exchange for iPhone 5 .

for others product i think can , even samsung also can get 1-1 exchange . But only at Singapore .
In Malaysia telco , they memang will charge u , or repair for you je .

Well if you are referring to specific countries, then it depends. But a friend in Australia got his unit replaced on the spot because it came with scratches out if the box.

But as far as I know, the official policy is that you get a one to one unit if its purchased from the Apple Store, online or in the shop.

Can't comment on telco's, they have their own policy.

Will they accept this for repair.

Samsung US repaired it for free....

my 2 cents:

don't go to any other SC than Plaza Berjaya SC

if your set is SME set, please go claim warranty @ Plaza Berjaya.

when i bought my P1000 2 years back from one of forumner here, i was told it was SME set and as it was my first Samsung, i do not know the sticker and SME warranty card. this made my set an AP set.

after i reached home and inspect closely to my P1000, i noticed there were dent on my housing and i called SME Plaza Berjaya (PB) for warranty claim and they asked me if mine is SME set. at that time, i still thought mine was SME, so i said yes and she advised me to bring it over for physical check at SME PB.

when i reached SME PB, they told me it was AP and i straightaway called that mothafker seller and he confessed it was AP set. (anyway, he made a refund of couple of hundreds)

so i asked SME PB if they can change the housing as it was like this out of the box. they said they will check before calling me.

after 2 days, they called me to pick up my set at SME PB & when i collect the set, they asked me for repair price of RM300 because mine wasn't SME set. i explained them problem is manufacturing defect and not caused by dropping or accident. as Samsung is a worldwide company, their reputation is more important than that RM300.

To my delight, they agreed to waive the servicing fee and advise me to purchase only when there were SME sticker on the packaging box.


Moral of the story: don't go to reseller/distributor/small SME servicing center. GO DIRECT TO SME PB AS ALL PROBLEMATIC SET WILL BE SENT THERE. instead of waiting for answer from third party, go direct to SME PB.

they will solve this for you.
