Looks nice but I wonder if it will affect the heat dissipation of the MacBook Pro RD?

Apple says that we cannot apply palm guard or it might damage the screen. I guess it's the same with screen protector. Apple claimed the the MacBook Pro Retina display has very little tolerance, hence we shouldn't put any film in between screen and keypad.

You can check if you have an LCD built by LG by running this command:
ioreg -lw0 | grep \"EDID\" | sed "/[^<]*</s///" | xxd -p -r | strings -6

Result should be something like this:
Color LCD
LP154WT1-SJA1
If one of the codes starts with LP, then it’s an LG screen.

1. u'll need to use the password for the username that you registered to the mac...
2. time machine... finder > application > time machine, when you connect external hd it will prompt you whether to set it as time machine backup drive or not
3. most of the setting changes is in the system preferences.
4. hit the "+" tab on top of the page...

google around and you should find all the answer you need.

Thanks BRY7 smile.gif

The fact that Apple can put this kind of warning is scary. Will they void the warranty if they can find traces of palm guard or screen protector applied before.

Looks like I have to use it without any protection.

Anyway, my MBP RD should be arriving in the next 2-3 days. Can't wait.....

All I can say is all these palm guards, screen and keyboard protectors are a waste of money... The most important thing is how you take care and handle your Mac.

I have my mid-2010 15" MacBook Pro for more than 2 years, carrying it around for work and leisure. Surprisingly it still looks new. Why...? Because I'm a careful and detailed person. Once in a while I would just get a cloth and wipe the exterior and the screen. Pop out the back cover and vacuum the interior.

There's nothing can be done on the plasticky keyboard, over time it will just look washed out. Put it on you risk sticking it onto the screen. Type it on, you can't see the tactile keyboard. So why keyboard protector...? As for palm guard, you worry about leaving residue on the palm area, so you're back to square one. So why waste money...?

Don't even get me started with screen protectors. Wanna reduce reflection, go BTO and get the anti-glare option. rMBP has already got its screen glare reduced by over 70%

Granted the electronic circuitry inside my MBP is beat up, no thanks to my nasty hobby of crunching 24/7, physically it's still in pristine condition. I've only use an el-cheapo sleeve to put the MBP onto my bag for travel. No scratches or dents whatsoever, not even the bottom part.
