Overal i love my mac except the cable which is rather thick.  hard to deal with it.  it occupies a lot of space.  how do u guys "treat" it?

also Can advise me on the charging issue which I raised that-whether do we have to plug in the cable everytime even if we r at home and the batt is full? Or once full, detach and recharge it when batt is empty? Worrying about the batt lift span.
*
treat the thick cables? dont need any treatment actually. and its quite durable, so just rolling it in a bunch and carrying it everywhere you want to bring it wud not be a problem.

about the charging, i just leave my mbp plugged in most of the time when i am at home. den when i do bring it out and its on battery, i just make sure i try to use up as much of the battery that i can before letting it charge again.
but to honest, im not the one that shud be advising about battery, cos mine seems to be holding quite lil charge. well it is, 3years old already.

i don't really like Razer Mouse since my Razer Taipan fail me as in the plastic on both side is sticky no matter how i clean it...==thinking of getting a wireless gaming mouse...recommendation?
i do love the trackpad as well. but when doing autocad using trackpad is a pain in the ass
*
you are using autocad as well? hahha yeah i know what you mean bro.
and razer chrome has a shiny surface, not the matte one that the normal orochi has. been using the chrome one for about half a year now. so far no prob, and alot less sticky and stains on it than the matte one. i owned the matte one before buying this chrome one. the matte one scroll spoilt but i really like the orochi so i got the chromed one as a replacement. been surfing me pretty well so far.

in regards to the 15' models, what exactly is the edge of getting the retina display compared to the non-retina display?
- display + ssd + thinner form factor?

i do like the thinner form factor, but i really wished it didnt had to incur that much addition cost the the mbp.

now im in the midst of upgrading my mbp, so its between the retina and the non-retina 15'.

I think that's it.. tongue.gif

Come to think of a price, just a roughly figure i count.
A normal 15" MBP cost RM5499 and a RMBP cost RM6799.
The difference is around RM1300 for an extra 4GB of RAM (8GB for RMBP), 256GB SSD, & Retina Display.
I think it's kinda worth to buy a RMBP, if your initial plan was to buy a normal MBP + upgrade SSD/RAM.

If you're ok with a RM5499 stock set, and no plan to upgrade. Normal MBP will do..

Just my 2cents la.. smile.gif
*
bro if you compare the 6799 normal 15' MBP, and the entry level rMBP, upgraded to the same processor (2.6 i7) priced at 6999, you will actually just be paying extra RM200 for retina + ssd. everything else is the same.

i think this config is pretty reasonable?

Yes, it's pretty reasonable if your initial plan was upgraded from a normal MBP. Hehe..

i pretty set on getting this config. but if only there was a way that i can 'pick it up'? sorry to sound old fashioned, but i have doubts with the local delivery services? unsure.gif hahha.

is there any way i can pick up a BTO mac from an apple reseller?

Will post my new MBP picture here after I COD today..^^
*
hope it went well bro.
but there are a few steps of precaution that you can take.
for exp, if he said that the machines hasnt powered up yet, you can tell when the machine power up, it wud ask you to 'register' certain things. althou that one can be 'remade' with an used machine, checking the battery cycle wud help confirm that?
the next thing to do with b checking the serial number and see the date.
if all seems legit, den i guess so are the words of the seller. thumbup.gif

what are the free apps that we can preview our picture easily by clicking next btn instead of having to click on every single picture and close every single window
tq
*
hey there,
try pressing space bar after highlighting the file. this will show a preview and can go to the next one by clicking the arrow buttons. this will not open any app so sorta reduce the weight on the laptop if you are opening quite a lot of files.

this works for videos and music files too. blush.gif

i got a problem with my new RMBP, i close the lit for sleep mode, then when i open the lit, it doesnt start up properly..

Is like when i open the lit and press the power button or any button,
The screen will show the cursor, but just for one or 2 sec, then it off back, the keyboard light will come up, then off in a second.

Can this problem be fix? can i get a unit replace for this problem? hardware problem?
*
um bro cud it be that you open and close the lid of the rmbp too quickly? like you close the lid, den straight away open it.
this happened to me only once before when i just remembered i had something to do on my laptop upon closing the lid of my mbp. the laptop doesnt exactly konw whether you want it to sleep or not.

Which version of IMAC? Start from mid 2011 imac, all are using laptop ram dy. If your IMAC is 2011 version, then only compatible for 1333mhz ram.
*
why only compatible with 1333mhz? im using 1600mhz ram on my 2012 version iMac.

*
understand you fine.
what i meant to say wud be, 1600mhz rams wud still b compatible if put into any system eventhou it only requires/needs 1333mhz.
