For business use, based on Nexus2238's list I would say the Thinkpad T430U fits the bill.. It does have all the requirements you listed plus the unique 'Thinkpad' image that can portray an excellent corporate image.. Do check if you need a direct VGA connection to your office's old monitor.. Some ultrabooks (or mostly) may not have it and you would need to get some converter ready when you need one.

A VGA port would be useful for those still using older generation of projectors...

Still, many manufacturers are offering adapters along with ultrabooks without VGA ports now hmm.gif

I wonder why HP Malaysia is late in bringing those new touchscreen ultrabook to Malaysia. I am deeply interested with the 15.6 inch Full HD spectre XT touchsmart ultrabook....as this would be my first ever laptop..huhu

1. Dell (will consider other brands)
2. Around RM1500
3. CS5
4. 14 or 15 inch screen size will do

I will use it mainly for web-surfing but I need a model that can still run smoothly if I ever decided to run Photoshop + Illustrator + iTunes at the same time. I'll only do simple designs & picture editing.

Thanks in advance!

Update: Thanks to all your suggestions, I've bought Dell Inspiron 15, Intel Core i5. biggrin.gif

No problem icon_rolleyes.gif
From the way I see it, you can get an i5 laptop if you do not mind (i) a FreeDOS laptop; (ii) stretching your budget abit nod.gif

What is your concern here actually? R u worried about the reliability of win 8? Or worried about missing all the upcoming cool tablet cum laptop kind of products? If it is the earlier, the I supposed u can buy the laptop with win 7 as it is now, and upgrade to win 8 when it matures along the way. FYI: u are entitled to upgrade to win 8 for a fees of abt RM50 via windowsupgradeoffer if u buy a win7 lappy (except w7 starter) between now and sometime early next year.. After all, either w7 or w8, their hardware spec r mostly the same..

If u r worried abt the later, then well sit tight and watch this space, lots of companies are announcing their new win8 products these time!

I'm worried about the latter! Because there will be touch screen laptops and stuff right, who knows what improvements they will make in the near future. I'm scared that I'll regret.

But I need a laptop now, and I'm considering to get a second hand one for the time being. Hmmmmm rclxub.gif

Buy when you need it. If you need to start using it 1 month from now, there will be a lot more models being launched.
Win8 is perfectly usable without touchscreen. Spend a bit of time to get to know the keyboard combination, and you find yourself using the touchpad less and less smile.gif
All those new models with touchscreen won't be cheap as well, at least initially.
And next year new CPU and GPU will be launched. Unless you have a deep pocket, staying at the cutting edge all the time is not easy tongue.gif
Just survey and buy the best laptop you can afford now and it will serve you well for a few years icon_rolleyes.gif
