That is the thing, which is why I specifically say that its good to have when
i) you have the budget
ii) you are getting a >15.6" notebook (they have better cooling; and they are not really known for good battery life in the 1st place) laugh.gif

Recently my friend was nominated as a webmaster for an educational/health institution. he wants the laptop to be very portable but able to fulfill his task. He is only looking at the content and the friendliness of the website while there will be an IT guy doing all the programming. as he only do the 20%-30%% of the job of a proper webmaster, which ultrabook is suitable and the cheapest (dont want to spend to much with only 20%-30% responsibility) for him. any brand will do. TQ

I have no idea what a webmaster is supposed to do laugh.gif
This perhaps? Cheapest already

Can consider this one if you don't mind FreeDOS
13"
Lenovo [Ultrabook]S300, Pentium 997 + Intel HD3000 @RM1199[1.8kg], 2GB,500GB(5400rpm), freeDOS; W7HB@RM1399, no ODD, 1 yr warranty

Otherwise,
14"
Dell
Inspiron 14, B820 + Intel HD@RM999[2.1kg], 2GB, 500GB(5400rpm), Ubuntu Linux 11.10; W7HB@RM1159
Inspiron 14, B980 + Intel HD@RM1199[2.1kg], 2GB, 500GB(5400rpm), Ubuntu Linux 11.10; W7HB@RM1359

*Not recommending netbooks because the screen is much smaller and not that good for office/surfing work

The Pavilion DV6 is no longer as hot as it used to be now... the current ones are way too expensive for the spec it offers... not really worth it sad.gif

As for the Y580, yes, that's the price and specifications nod.gif Do I look like I'm new at recommending laptops? haha tongue.gif

Thin designs usually don't go well with performance, as performance is compromised in order to achieve the thinness.
Certainly not recommended for heavy gaming either.

However, the Acer M5 is something you can look at. Priced at 2.9, 3rd gen i5 proc with gt640m for discrete graphics, which is pretty impressive for thin and light.
On the other hand, we have the Dell Inspiron 14z as well, packing i7 proc, with amd graphics, priced at 2.9 as well.

If you can settle for something less ultrabook like, then you should consider the y580 as well, pricing is similar to the previous mentioned models, while having a i7 and gt650 graphics.
Not forget to mention that is has Full-HD display as well.

Is it possible for the price of Windows 7 laptop to decrease once the Windows 8 is released.

Currently Eye-ing on the lenovo g480, and lenovo g580. Is there any much different besides the weight, screen size, keyboard (extra numberpad) and usb hole( g580 has usb 580 while g480 is all usb 2.0, if i m not mistaken), right?? any more difference?
