I'm on the same situation as you. I saw the dslam just a few clicks from my house. When i first asked tmnut to fix a 4mbps package at my house, they told me no such services in my area.
The answers jumped from No such services -> Port Full -> Don't have services -> Port all Full -> have to wait months.
I went to do a survey around my neighborhood . only 1-3 house in my area using tmnut. We have tonnes of utility poles around. You could literally hang the entire crew of tmnut on a hangman noose with that ample of telephone lines draping around.
Called them back, they say have to check again. The case drag from october till february. In the end , i register under a different ic. They came within few days to setup 4mbps.

In my opinion, u've got to do your homework carefully when handling with this retards. Just a bunch of lazy bummers with no knowledge or whatso ever handling customers request. Each of them give a different answer and sing a different song.

But one thing for sure, if a dslam is very near to you , all speed should be available to you. If not , check with your neighbours anyone using 8mbps. Get the proof and shoot it to them.

These fools wont work anything if you dont give them a concrete proof that the service is available and they've been sleeping throughout the year and not knowing the availability of such product/service. And yes , half of tmnut service crew are really sleeping infront of their working desk. doh.gif

ah in 2nd attempt i try at tm, the tm guys shows me the system when they try to submit my 8mbps application, system return error (someting like this..."max rate at location is 4xxxkbps") so cant proceed... at that time, im quite not satisfied because in 2011, i have used 4mbps and i know max attain rate is 28mbps with super clear line quality. i terminate in 2012 (4mbps).

while installation process, after finish re-wiring... the installer call KL and ask them to set port to 10mbps. done.

Got nothing to do with agent. Most of the staff do not even know which areas are covered and which areas doesn't. They just follow procedures and submit into system.
If system says no, end of story. However as u know , TMnut do not update their database. So this is why sometimes your neighbour has been using 4mbps for years and yet u fail to apply for years. Only when users start to complain that a nearby user is using that package and why they dont get it. They'll only move their lazy ass to check on the matter.

You'll get different answers from technician. Some technician will be good enough to tell u that it's available. Some will do what WanR experience before. Plug in their lego and say "connected" speed only 4meg. Which we know this silly trick works with none IT savvy folk. The technician can adjust the connected speed from the dslam. So proofing that it's only 4meg is just plain stupid.

You'll have to try a couple of ways to ask around. I'm not sure if you socialize well with your neighbours. Maybe ask them is anyone using 8megs line around your area ?. There shud be some chatty auntie around your neighbourhood who gossip alot and knows everything around laugh.gif
Or... you could call in and provide your phone number to check+ walk in to TM point and check. Make sure is your neighbourhood TMpoint. If you're staying in sunway, don't walk into KL TMpoint.
