I just got a QR350pro lately. For the first time flying a drone.

It came with iLOOK+ and it seems it need a micro sd to do the recording. I would like to ask is 16GB is sufficient for the video recording? How long duration can 16GB record for HD video?

Hey there, sorry for the late reply was busy flying all day. Oh yes about the GB consumption on mostly for sport camera size like iLOOK usually approx around 2GB for 10 minutes recording.

Is there a good newbie small quad within the range of <RM300? Preferably with spare parts readily available in case I break something? Camera is optional for me.

Yup there lots of good small quad under RM300 that offer great flying performance and stuff plus many replacement parts on local market. I made lots of test, reviews and modification on these cheapo models at my website. You can read some of my recommendation.

I just recently review two models while some old good ones you can scroll from my past reviews:

New review:

1. TARANTULA X6 (Quadcopter)
http://www.supermotoxl.com/News-Reviews/Ne.../menu-id-4.html

2. MJX X600 (Hexacopter)

The most I see recommended as a beginner's quad or hexa is these below...

Hubsan X4 H107L or H107C (got 2mp camera)... I saw Hubsan have lots of spare parts...

MJX X600... Also spare parts a lot...

MJX X800

I just received my H107L from banggood yesterday... Very easy to fly... I'm noob also... Try searching in gearbest or banggood...

Here is some websites for coupons in banggood and gearbest...

Thanks, guys.

The tarantula looks really big. Half the time I'll be flying indoors.

How's practical is the x600 indoors? I have small kids in the house. Don't want to end up hurting them.

Or maybe I should go really small like the Syma X12 until my kids get bigger?

You can watch how this guy flies the x600 indoors...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8TR739SbUQ

I would avoid those nano quads as they are not for beginners... I regretted getting FQ777-124 Pocket Drone as it's very difficult to fly for beginners...

Consider the Hubsan X4 H107L... Quite easy to fly...

the x600 is mini sized(same as x5c)and yaw rate is a bit slow,so that means you need a pretty large indoor space to fly it,not to mention on it's highest speed,it flips automatically when you push the right stick fully,so it's best to fly it in medium speed outdoors. It can also carry a mobius camera.

the x12 is pretty good for beginners and it's quite fast, but for more fun i'd suggest the cheerson cx-10 bcus it has 3 speeds and a much faster yaw rate than the x12.both quads have a large online support group,as evidenced by the RCgroups website and that means mods and spare parts are easy to find.both are small and light meaning they wont suffer much damage in a crash.

bottom line, let you and your kids learn slowly before venturing into the complex stuff.start at the slower speed and practice controlling the quad in the air.Eventually you can progress to faster speeds and learn tricks like funnels, banked turns and circuits etc nod.gif
