QUOTE(z8net @ Apr 24 2013, 04:06 PM) for 3G, look for modem that support DC-HSDPA connection as that is the fastest 3G connection for now... if you are not living in LTE area, having LTE modem is more for future preparation as they also support #G connection. but be carefull, nto all LTE modem support DC-HSDPA, some only up to HSDPA+ Yup, need to be careful with this oneBut currently all Huawei LTE range support DC-HSPA+ |

z8net : You probably added a wrong COM (Might be the actual internet COM or diagnostics).
You can refer to device manager I guess under communication section (can't sure which section since didn't use Windows for a while Anyway E398 no need any sort of supercharge, wrongly BBXiong : Typically yes, technically depends on where is Maxis base station, what is your signal you get on MDMA z8net get decent speed even on KLCC |

QUOTE(BBXiong @ May 14 2013, 03:21 PM) really? then I revert back to default value try if it's faster maybe? lol Maxis won't cut SIM card, they will issue you with a new one anyway, unrelated question, if i walk to maxis and request change sim for iPhone 5, they will straight give me nano sim? or normal sized sim cut down to nano sim? feel like wanna get it changed today but I don't have any adapter in hand, if they give a new nano sim instead of cut version I won't be able to use E398 for a while liao @@ I guess you can still put in E398 but make sure it didnt hide inside else hard to get it out |

QUOTE(coklatua @ May 14 2013, 08:57 PM) Oh. Will try it. Probably your modem doesn't support UMTS 900Mhz but your phone can Between a phone and a usb modem, which is more power? Because my modem cant detect 3g in my area but my phone can. Read first page I got some explanation there. Modem is definitely better if comparing same range. Dont compare a 21Mbps modem VS a LTE Phone |

QUOTE(therise @ May 19 2013, 02:25 PM) Once upon a time, a tower at my neighborhood give me 7.2Mbps DL speed. (DC-HSPA+) A modem only can connect to one tower at once. What I remember, if pointing to 2 different tower using external panel antenna, theoretically the speed will be double. (is it?) I feel curious if I point 2 antenna to same single tower, is it speed double or remain 7.2Mbps. Or may b DC-HSPA+ + EDGE ? Need some clarification Celcom got DC-HSPA+? : |

QUOTE(tjw8001 @ Oct 21 2013, 02:26 PM) thanks i just tried TX boost sucessful. modify the value of NV_WCDMA_MAX_TX_POWER does it improve LTE signal as well? or only boost 3g WCDMA ? Dont play with antenna gain boost as for the atenna gain boost, what is the best value for MF820D? the value -444 is recommended for most modem? my MF820D default valut is -218 , bigger value means more better? TX just for 3G for now |
