Hi guys..with panel antenna..usb modem TX value just set to 5 or lower enough..because the usb modem after plug in to panel antenna..build in TX is useless already..

And after that modem more stable and less hot..speed also same without TX 27..

Test by myself..modem won't DC anymore..signal also doesn't got big change
*
hmm.gif

May I know what modem are you using

ZTE MF680..that's the modem u sold to me
*
Yup, MF680 is like this. It is a good modem except for the heat issue

While E372 TX is the total output power when I set to low TX it can't drive the antenna properly for unknown reason sweat.gif

i thought all modem also same.. blink.gif look like MF680 is the nice modem smile.gif

that time when i set it to TX 1 without antenna,it will force change to EDGE..after plug in the antenna 3G signal come back already..compare with TX 27 doesn't got big change..so im direct set it back to TX 1..and then dismantle all the cover also silver panel together..then blow it with fan doesn't got heat issue already rclxms.gif

but something is weird..when i take off the silver panel just got a lot of chipset only..dunno cover it for what use:blink:

That is an antenna as well which need to be in contact with the gold plate

That should be installed but some users may find no difference either installed or removed

owh meaning 3meters below still not that affect the signal..

ok2 coz im not planning more than 3 meters..

thx wink.gif

Honestly say the effect of signal on cable is not very significant actually unless used those super low grade.

Just use Astro as example, they provide every installation with 10M of those normal coax yet Astro is still HD.

I always recommend USB extension as the cost is a lot lower.

Thank you very much for the tutorial blacktubi.

I Am using E173 and it works fine with the following:
tx max power =  26 (It increased my signal from 64% to 70% - MR3420)
fw = 11.126.85.00.209
dashboard = UTPS 21.005.20.00.24
Band config = UMTS2100
telco = celcom

By the way, just wondering if anyone have any idea what goes wrong here.
If i'm using the USB modem to get online i seems like getting non-responssive or dropping from the internet very frequent during peak hour. It runs fine during off-peak hour though for an example midnight. It happens to me either i tweak or not tweaking the USB modem.

If i connect to the internet using iphone 3G + internet tethering it runs great no matter peak or off peak hours.

Thanks in advance if anyone could enlighten me.

This is known as instability

Old modems tends to happens quite frequently nod.gif

But it shouldn't too frequent eg 2 times every 10 minutes smile.gif

Thanks a lot for the feedback.

In fact when it is real bad it happen every 2 minutes during peak hour.  rclxub.gif It performs real good during off peak hour though.

Seems like I have no choice but to replace my USB modem. From the other thread i saw your comment on E1762. Can I know if you supply E1762? It's kinda cheap but yet stable USB modem if i'm not mistaken.
*
Wow, that was overly serious

Nope, stop bringing in Huawei E1762

Yes, Huawei E1762 is an extremely stable USB modem and low cost nod.gif

Had been replaced by Huawei E367

some detailed info in german

it seems satellite dish is the best antenna
*
Most of us running at 33dBm brows.gif

Yes, Astro dish is truly very high gain but it totally is a different theory with our modem

Usual Satellite Dish require a LNB (Low Noise Block) to TX towards the dish and reflect towards the Satellite which is totally not possible on 2100Mhz nod.gif

Just my 2 cent laugh.gif

33 for E372
27 for MF680, but usually MF680 will start crazy at 27 so recommended 26
