Nice match vs Cesena. Too bad keeper was good, otherwise we may get 5 or 6. Gio was a beast. He deserve a goal at least

the team dat lost to Milan was 2002-03 team led by Don Lippi

the team in 2004-06 was led by Don Capello, by far the most boring yet effective Juve team. But if i have to pick
one then the team of 2002-03 for sure. Great direct football as opposed to Capello more defensive approach team.

And not to mention Capello team kinda underperformed in Europe too, losing to both Liverpool & Arsenal in succession. One can only
wonder with the likes of Buffon-Thuram-Cannavaro-Zambrotta-Vieria-Emerson-Nedved-Camo-Ibra-Trez-ADP most of them were at their primes, why the
heck this team never left some mark in European football
*
Buffon-Thuram-Cannavaro-Zambrotta-Vieria-Emerson-Nedved-Camo-Ibra-Trez-ADP are excellent line up, but slow nevertherless. Year 2000+ starts transition to counter attacking and fast attack.

even now we are still slow in build up, and once we lost the ball the defenders are not well position nor have the speed to recover, hence our loss to Olympiacos.

My best Juve would be 1996-1999, Alex DP, Inzaghi, Zidane, Conte, Deschamps were all in prime and went to 3 consecutive CL finals. Midfield was Tachninardi, simple play but effective. Ball winner ferocious Edgar Davids. Defenders Ferrara, Montero, Iuliano, Pesotto were all no nonsense classic defenders. GK was Edwin Van Der Sar or Peruzzi, but they really cannot compare to Buffon. If buffon played with this team, Juve will be invincible.

happy that we won, and roma dropped point. forza juve. btw how our team play last nite? ok?

1st half was broing. 2nd half was good, not that great. not many chances created and we suffered a bit at midfield and defence.

hehehe

The Paul Newman of football notworthy.gif

and btw, last i read somewhere saying dat both Ogbonna & Asamoah probably injured during the last time out against Empoli
perhaps this would force Max to alter for 4-3-3/4-1-3-2 against Olympiakos?

i'm getting tired of the all 'foreplay no penetration'  laugh.gif 3-5-2 like we witnessed during the 1st half against Empoli back on Saturday.
with the small altercation of formation in the 2nd half Juve looks like having less possession of the ball but looking more dangerously
when counter/moving to attacking in unit

--------------Buffon------------
Lich---Vidal---Bonny---Chiello
--------------Pirlo-----------------
--Pereyra---Pogba--Marchiso--
----------Tevez--Morata----------
its make or break tie. Enduring last season UCL was hard enough...  sweat.gif

using vidal as CB is dangerous considering he is natural midfielder and will venture up automatically.
I prefer 4-3-3
Buffon,
Lich,Bonny,Chiello,Asamoah
Vidal,March,Pogba
Morata,LLorente, Tevez/Gio

We need to attack a lot. Llorente is excellent holding up the ball. Sorry Pirlo might start on the bench, maybe introduce as players energy waned down.

played in rain, but the pitch handled superbly. good formation, pogba free role, marchisio covers until out of gas etc. excellent pirlo free kick, good game all in all.

just that we conceived goals from set crossings, maybe we are not used to wingbacks deep down and midfields suppose to prevent such crosses.

indeed, those who missed last night game really rugi oo.. tongue.gif  especially tevez solo move. dem that was world class move. i hope we can play like this more often, very strong, dominate and kill the game. flex.gif  if only we can display this kind of performance in the ucl as well. what surprise me that, we played without pirlo, vidal, and our defense army(caseres, barzagli, asamoah and evra), yet we scored 7 n concede non. pereyra was playing quite good, romulo was ok, padoin is so so, coman also shows a lot of promises and moratta, i hope he will continue scoring. who knows allegri will play 3 strikers in the future. rclxm9.gif  how about 3-5-3 formation buffon caseres/bonucci-chelini/barzagli/evra asamoah-pogba/pereyra-marchisio/pirlo-vidal-lich tevez-llorente-moratta. actually looking back at our squad, we kinda have a very high quality players,  hmm.gif i think with the right tactics and strategy i believe we can at least go far in UCl. however this season i hope we can we win double, scudetto and coppa italia. UCL, i will be happy enough if we can go till last 8.

should be 3-4-3 smile.gif

Good show last night, too bad no hat-trick from any of the forwards. just remember Parma was not in good shape lately, which positive only beating Inter (thanks to de ceglie). Romulo was looked to be everywhere last night, but only few postive from him. Padoin was better and more solid, link well with Chiello. If not for tevev solo goal, Leinchtiner should be man of the match. good outing overall smile.gif

happy 40th birthday el capitano smile.gif

Meanwhile;
Juventus to beat Arsenal to Schar

Arsenal are set to miss out on Basel defender Fabian Schar who is closing in on a move to Juventus. The player's representatives have been in talks with Juve and Schar is happy with the terms on offer.

for now we are covered, but barzagli, chiello is reaching 30. Chiello will not extend his contract after the latest one expires.

Indeed we have good backup, but considering current lack of good defenders we should snap anyone on the cheap, if he does not perform we can let go.

I agree Shaqiri is another valuable buy, and the mids really need reinforcements. Strong wide players needed, too bad now I'm missing de ceglie. he is not that good compare to asamoah or evra, but he is hadrworking and combined well with chiello.

Juve did not capitalized the chances. should had put giovinco early on rather than too late.
